Hi, I was hacked...
It was a close friend of mine of guild wars.
He had my login, cuz i was on hollydays, in hollydays he would get my character to level 20.
Now I returned.
I loged in. My friend also was.
I asked how things got, he ssaid allright.
I lged out, 10 minutes after that I tried to login, but the acc name didn't exist anymore...
A friend of mine checked it, and saw our guild doesn't exist anymore.
But the account does.
What can I do.
I don't get hwo it could be hacked, cus he didn't have the login of my emai, and to change the adress it sends 2 emails...

My character was online last time my friend checked, but didn't want to reply.

I don't have the msn of the "friend"

Anyway, my character is (name deleted by Lasher Dragon)

the hacker his name is (name deleted by Lasher Dragon)

What can be done?

My guild gone wich has cost me 19k with guild hall and cape and stuff...
I know you will call me stupid, but anyway...

I am assumming you dont know where this "close friend" is staying from what you just described. Otherwise i would show him a thing or two physically...

Anyways the only thing you can do is to open a ticket with Support:
http://www.guildwars.com/support/

and provide them with a description of what happened and other details and check your original email which you used to create the account to see if your email has also been hacked. You may be able to get your account back but not likely the things he may have sold or characters he had deleted or the guild hall sorry.

You didnt get "hacked." In order for you to get hacked, the other party must get your information off your computer without your acknowledgement; however, you gave away your information willingly to someone you do not know in real life.

The correct term is "stupidity."

The best bet for you to get your account back is to contact Anet support with your Key. For your sake, do it yourself, don't ask another "close friend" of yours to handle your Key.

its your own fault. you should not give your account details to anyone. if he also knows your email address that is just plain rediculous now you cant do anything. anet wont be happy you gave your details away. its a lose-lose situattion.

if you give your password to ANYONE you are being stupid, adn you are not getting hacked. your very dear friend proberly took your account.

and people still do it even though you hear these things happen over and over adn over and over (and over) again

also posting names is against forum rules, i would assume posting e-mails is against the rules aswell

I also can add that just "incase", you should have your GuildWars CD Copy with the serial in it (the copy you purchased) ... The best HardCopy proof that you can be verified as the "legal owner" of that serial.

Think of it!

Why is posting names of hackers wrong?

Cause until there is solid proof, we dont know if ur just trying to smeer the name of another player who might actually be innocent.

Cos he isnt a hacker, you gave him the account name, you gave him the password. He didnt have to hack anything. The only name relavant is the one stupid enough to give away your login details.

Sorry to be harsh, but this is all your fault, what do you expect anet to do for you?

I highly doubt ANet will do anything. You gave a stranger your info. Who the hell does that.

gee, this is going to make them add ANOTHER warning to the log in screen....

NEVER GIVE ANY INFO TO ANYONE...PERIOD....

i expect to see a variation of that next week or so on the screen.
where as it *might* be ok to let your brother or best friend in real life that YOU KNOW WHERE THEY LIVE and can go around there and beat the bejebus out of them for doing it, giving your account details to someone you cant get to is a realy BAD idea....
prety much every game i have ever played has said this at the log in, or on the accounts page of there website...

'never give your account information to anyone, we <insert name of game> staff will NEVER ask you for your log in name or password, and anyone that says they are Admin from <name of game> and DOES ask for details is lying'

when someone ether gets a hold of or guesses your log-in and password, its more *cracking* than hacking....

You can't "hack" a Guild Wars account. The only way to lose your account is giving you password to the thief, either by telling him or installing a keylogger. Both ways, it's always the victims fault. GG, I hope the guy who took your account has months of fun with it.
