Max exploration % of Shing Jea isle?

Has anyone explored the max % of Shing Jea isle yet? My goal is to get explore 100% cantha and i dont wanna leave this isle before i have max of it..

I believe Shing Jea caps out at around 20%.

I say this 'cause I'm in the same boat as you.

This brings up an interesting question: will characters that transfered over from Prophecies (and therefore don't have access to Factions' "Pre-Searing" area) be able to get 100% Canthan exploration? I've explored as much of the early areas as i can get to and only have 17% explored. Some entries are blocked to me, I'm assuming to keep out high level characters from starter areas. Anyone have any theories?

Is it even like presearing in that you can't return after leaving the island?

You can return after you finish, so there is no problem. As far as being denied to an area, I've found a way to glitch around that last night...

are you sure you can return after? wasnt that only for headstart event or something?

Yes, you can travel back and forth from the island to the mainland.

There's no where on the island thats blocked to tyrians. Unless they don't allow them to do the missions/quests, but I doubt that.

In Cantha there's alot of area's that are blocked until you have the quest for it.

Cool.. Is this just guessing or are you quoting something? That would be pretty nice though.. However, I suspect that since many of us can't get into the mission areas they are either blocked or there is some other quest quite a few people haven't found yet..

For the other person above that said you can always go back and forth (if I am correct that someone said that), they said you would only ever be able to do that during the early access period (not necessarily Day of the Tengu even). I suspect when the extended early access ends on May 1/2, it'll be over..

i think i have messed up my chances of getting 100% because i didnt do the tutorial. i have explored all (?) of the island now and have 21,6% completed

All mission areas are blocked at pre-area. Tyrians won't get the quests that lead up to opening those doors, unfortunately.

Actually, Tyrians won't get any quests at all at that island.

this is the same for cathan characters going to tyria, you cant take part in any quests or missions before kryta, so the northen shiverpeaks and ascalon are a waste of time for canthan chars, unless they venture to asclon to buy/sell an item

The difference is Canthans are not blocked out of any areas in Tyria even if you dont get any of the quests. On Shing Jea Island, if you are a Tyrian, you don't get the quests that open up the new areas thus you are unable to explore all of the island and get a 100% explorer title.

Can a Tyrian join a team with a native Canthan to do the quests / missions on the island that the Canthan picks up ?

This would be simple to find out - I haven't tried yet and am not near the game to do it myself.

18.2% with a Tyrian character. Did it with 2 characters, explored every possible area of the island but the places I was locked out of from beign Tyrian, and came up with 18.2%

I have explored the whole island corner to corner (except for the blocked out portions) with my Tyrian Ranger. There is only one quest you can get from the Lagoon area. It is called the bog beast or something like that.

You go to the village south of the lagoon and listen to the guys story for a few mins then he will give you the quest.

I have exactly 22.0% after leaving the island. To be exact, that is after arriving on the Kaineng Docks, so maybe the island alone is 0.1% less. I did the tutorial, too.

Edit: Can someone tell me if it's possible to get down to the beach in Jaya Bluffs? Maybe there's some hidden path down the cliff? I only remembered that I didn't try that after I zoned out and I'm too lazy now to go check again.

yeah... i was hoping to get Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer on my Tyrian Ranger... but i'm limited to certain areas on that island and wasn't able to get past some doors cause i wasn't a Canthan... so i still have some fog patches on that island...

the only quest i was able to find there was "The Bog Beast of Bokku"... so iono... maybe ANeT will want to change something...
