In some games there are hidden areas that have rare items and I've been playing GW for 3 months now and haven't seen any hidden areas. I know this isn't the usual single player rpg game with a hidden dungeon that has the best item in the game. But I would still like to know if there are any areas that Anet hid from us to find during our playing of the game.
So could anyone here tell me if there are hidden areas in GW?
Are there any hidden areas in GW?

There are no "hidden" areas in the sense of having some sort of a special item. Certain areas have better loot than others, however. Tombs of the Primeval Kings drops "green" items at the end, and Sorrow's Furnace bosses can drop green items also. Like was stated, Fissure of Woe and Underworld have high-level loot. Dreadnought's Drift was an exploit, there was a "Lost Strongbox" and a "Frozen Chest" that dropped unique items that are extremely rare (such as Dwarven Axes, Sephis Axes, and so on) without the use of any key. ArenaNet, with their obessive need to balance things, (not being cynical, just stating a truth
) usually removes any exploit in the game that causes a significant imbalance, which ultimately keeps the expression Skill > Grind intact.

That's not to say you wont notice little hidden nice places to just look at and so forth... it wasn't untill like my third time through the game that I noticed the cave in presearing was still there in post. >.>
There's areas nobody visits and are nonessential such as Dragon's Gullet and Majesty's Rest so technically they could be secret since a majority of players will never go there or never see the need to. But then again they're like going to a circus without clowns. I don't know how that analogy fits, but there you go.

I never read about in the forums, so it still will be a secret, we never saw anyone there too.

That's really surprising considering the INSTANCED MAPS..but if the 'secret' place was able to have other people not in your party then obviously it is in a town somewhere..Aurora Glade perhaps?

Lornar's Pass shrine (large double door entrance)
Tombs Portal on way to Hall of Heroes PvE Version
Heroes Ascent on way to Hall of Heroes. PvP Version
so there are 4 but in reality they are the same on the last 2, just different entrances and content inside...
Anyone know for sure if the Majasty's Rest Balthazars shrine will take you down to Fissure of Woe? I been there in the past but always forget to check...
Nope just checked. its the Balthazars shrine in The Falls that takes you to Fissure of Woe.

Watch for elder cranes tigers and Moas in Cantha... The Dark Moa is still one of the more unique looking ones. I really like its Accessories on the pet. Wish more pets could have them... I have not been able to get a peep out of anyone in arenanet about the new secret pet that is past the harvest temple... I can't wait to see that. Its got to be something really interesting for them to be sitting on it so well...
