Im thinking the storage will still be the same since they implemented this, it's probably the fix for storage in addition to the fix for slots

Its a ripoff. $10 for a character slot?

This just proves the point that silly Math that Gaile and crew tried to pass as logic why only 2 extra slots - was silly of course. How can we not laugh at that now?


Unfortunately, the cynical truth - more money - has always been the real reason.

Sweet this is great, this provide's a route if you need more room.

It also set up situation where C3 will leave you with 6 slots if you have two merged already and you can go "just by more" but overall I think this is a great idea.

Think how much vaule this slot has when they have 4+ chapters out

umm, if you made a game, wouldnt you want some money for it? Do you HAVE to buy more slots? It makes sense to me now that there is only 2 more, I'm fine with this. ANET is NOT running a monthly fee, therefor the profit margin is significantly reduced. This is not a ripoff, it is a way to keep ANET functioning and able to continue producing.

That's no fair, why is it that when people complain, they get what they want! If you guys do that, I'm leaving the forums forever, because it's no fair to people like me who want their wines to be heard!

edit: to be fair, IMO a little expensive, but much better than having to buy a new copy of the game that you can't merge. That's always bothered me (my guild leader has an account in another guild that he uses more often than the guild leading account.) So this is a good thing. That being said, I won't use it, as it wong bring back all three of my deleted lvl20 characters :'(, and I probably won't get that many characters to lvl20 again to warrant.
That and I'm poor.

You obviously never read the suggestion threads.

Buying more slots has been an idea floating around the community. $10 is more than reasonable, some of us have suggested it.

I will definitely be pruchasing some of these... just for my guilds inventory that I have on my second account....

hmmm 4 accounts already filled with materials weapons unid runes + adding factions = 6 accounts + O.o now I can purchase additional accounts.... 10 accounts all for guild storage... FTW my guys will love it, since i am already turning down the donations.

Finally, can't wait to buy my extra slot or two.

does anyone know if slots will continue to come with purchased chapters as they will in factions? or do you have to buy the future chapter(s)+character slot(s) in order to take advantage of new classes without deleting valuable characters

oh I know, I get more stuff than I can figure out what to do with lol

YAY! more character slots... hmmm... since whining seems to work.... WAAAAAHHH!!! ANET, I want larger storage, max weapons when I start a new character, a GOD mode for PvE coz I don't want to put effort in the missions, a BFG 9000 weapon that kills every baddie in the mission, so I don't really have to fight them, and better Henchie AI.

You assume too much. I know about that suggestion. Hell, I suggested the day 2 extra slots was announced by Gaile.

Second, it is a silly math. Trying to repackage it (2 extra slot) as some kind of favor was a sale's pitch to the community that IMO was bought wholesale by many. It is a con job from the very beginning in attempt to milk the community.
I doubt Alex and Gaile can look a fan straight in the real world eyes and say it ain't so. They may be able to, but I am sure laughter would follow behind closed doors.

The worse part of this is it punishes loyal users. Those who have been loyal and in need of more slots are in more likely to buy this con.


GW may not have a monthly, but as time goes on - the *value* of the game is actually less and less. Coming closer to that of traditional pay-to-play MMORPG.

Would have prefered something a tad lower though. More along the lines of 5bucks or heck 7. 10 just looks like a lot , simply psychologically speaking.

Still though it does raise the precedent of continuing on the supplying of less charslots then actual 'new' professions. Heck if I would be in charge I would on the next expasnion offer only 1 slot and 4 professions. People that want more will buy them anyway. I wonder how much longer that it will take before we will see 20 storageslots (so boxes) being sold for 5bucks... or heck an upgrade on the bags costing you 5 bucks, etc...

If that is going to be the case, then it sure as heck ain't difficult to come out with a subscriptionless game...

And please quit the annoyingly we may post our opinion, since this IS the truth, but if anybody else does it who happens to have an opinion contrary to the viewpoint or the stance of ANET they are whining/ranting/etc and should shut the heck up... people don't like an opinion, either reply and fund why you are stating this or just don't read it and let it die out.

As long as it isn't the start of "creeping costs" syndrome as well. I think you might need to buy (maybe?) two slots at most, and then future chapters should be ok as well if they continue with the current release rate with new classes. Basically you'd be "up to speed" and no longer have to buy more slots after the initial few purchases.

That's what I'd hope for anyway, the ability to buy a few extra slots so I can play all classes (or most of them that I want to) and this makes up for it so wouldn't have to keep paying for extra ones for future chapters. Hope that makes sense

Exactly! The no monthly thing becomes a license to milk it.

More weapons skins for $5 - 'hey we have no monthly'
More storage for $3 - 'hey we have no monthly'
Combine 2 accounts $10 - 'hey we have no monthly'
Server goes down - 'hey we have no monthly'
Faster server access $10 -'hey we have no monthly'

My question is will there be a limit and how high (many). after merge with faction i get 6, can i then buy 6 more or will they cap it at 8 or 10 or 20 ?
