Gwen Breakthrough in pre-searing...?

while mucking around in pre, I stumbled across an NPC near the Rez point outside of Ashford, Her name was Sarah. When I talked to her, she said something along the lines of
"Drat, looks like I'm out of *something* weeds again, I'd better go look for some"
She was stationary, i.e. not moving in any direction for a very long time.

My char, being a monk, got Gwen to say "*someone* and my mother are both healers, except *someone* heals with magic, and my mother uses herbs"

Gwen later said "how am I supposed to get home now?"

Is there some connection between these 2 NPCs?

When I realized this, I got Gwen to follow me, and tryed to find Sarah, however, by the time I got to where Sarah was, she had disappeared. Strange.

any insight on this?

Sarah is Gwen's mother.

yes, but could this be some Pre-searing sub-plot?

Sarah doesn't really do anything in presear but talk. You can find her later on in the game after she's dead in the underworld, and there are random rumors about using items that drop to open up some random quest or something after clearing the underworld, but nothing confirmed. Don't think about it too much. When I first got the game I thought I'd be the one to find the secret behind Gwen but she's actually just part of a broken quest that may or may not be completed later on.

I wouldn't call it a broken quest, which implies it's finished but not working. It appears they just put some Gwen based items in, but never got around to actually putting the quest in.

You can still use Gwen's flute for +1 energy

If a HoD sword sells for 500k, and gives +5 uconditional, therefore the flute must be worth 100k!!

i can use it, or are you meaning the one back in pre sear...

You can equip either the Flute or Broken Flute as an offhand. The Broken Flute doesn't do anything as far as anyone knows, and the Flute gives a nice +1 energy.

well that explains why she wants a fixed flute back lol....she realy must be thinking of being a fire ele then ^^

NO Gwen wants to be a monk, eles are nukers, bad against weeds, unless your ready to toke one. Other than that shes gunna be an uber tank.

Gwen is already a nuker, if you haven't seen that old video from beta where she destroys everyone..

I'm just saying, can u bring Gwen to Sarah/Vice-versa in order to complete some hidden quest (e.g. Farmer Dirk's hogs)? If so, does this branch on to other quests in pre-searing?

So what's this curtain (red fabric) item I got from gwen in pre-searing for?
Been carrying it all the way through the game without knowing why

The Tapesty Shard - has no in game uses... yet

I use it while farming Aatxes in the UW, kinda makes me feel like a bull fighter. You might also find it useful while fighting the dreaded bulls/cows we call minotars.
