Call me insane but I actually intend to unlock all 8 professions skills on all 8 of my chars... yeah, I know, lol. It's gonna take me ages though, especially as I don't bother farming too much anymore... but it'll keep me interested in the game, whether I finally do it or not

The way I have done it is this: select three primaries that I enjoy (w/e, r/me, mo/n) and play through the game three times. With this setup you're able to do all the skill reward quests, plus get all the skill points through normal play through. This of course only works for unlocking on one account, but not for one individual character. A lot faster this way and also leaves one slot open for PvP

I've got all the warrior skills (except elites) unlocked and almost all the ranger skills (my first character was actually a W/R).

You can unlock primary attribute only skills on a character that only has a profession as their secondary. IE a Mo/W unlocking Strength.

First of all, if you only used one character (say a pvp character) then yes, but since pvp only characters can BUY all there skills talking about exprience and skill points is silly. Also, doing the skills quests pre and post searing would give you almost all you basic skills without gaining exp, without spending skill points... the amount of exp/skill points needed is drastically reduced!

Secondly, most people have at least 2 characters. I'm not going to do the math, but basically you can unlock all your skills (elites as well) using only 2 characters and changing their secondaries. My monk alone has all the necro and monk skills unlocked, most all the warrior ones, ele and a few memer skills as well, and he's only got about 2.5 million exp!

Clearly you know I have to stay up till into the wee hours of the night, and sleep gets the best of me when we play.

Unlocking all the new skills for factions is probably the only other thing you can do next... on a toon who already has the 450 current ones.

At any rate, using your calculations at 20k it's only 9 million xp to get 450 skill points, not 90 million.)
My bad > you are right. It is 9 Million.... Hmm ... 9 Million is doable...
And 15000x450= 6.75 Million XP... That is a very reasonable figure!

That's why we should unlocke them either ;-)

Really? I did not know this... thanx for the hint

450-44=406

Let s say 15000x406=6.09 Million XP... still a few millions to go

I have EVERYTHING Unlocked Except about 9 Warrior skills, and about 15 elites (useless ones that are never used)..

this isnt including the new Assassin/Ritualist skills, or the new skills for the current professions....

I unlocked the larger majority of them with faction from PvPing i think i only have like 400k XP on my main character, and about 120k on my other...

But Ghozer, that's not on one character, that's the true challenge.

I have every single skill unlocked, but they're spread across characters.

I havent had any problem with skill points for my RolePlay, but i may run into some. I want to unlock the skills for W/anything so that i can switch builds at will. So far I got W/Mo and W/R pretty much done. lookin into W/E next. The money is more of a pain 1k a skill wether u cap it or not. =)

I didn't mention the skills you get for your primary and first secondary playing the quests the first time through. Also, there are still the other sources of free skills, which reduces it to about 280 or so that you must buy. Of course, you could simply choose to forgo those quests and unlock them all via skillpoints, but why do that when as a level 20 you can go back and solo all these quests?

Now a REAL challange (which probably isnt possible) would be to get every skill in the game via cap sigs only.........

My ranger and warrior have every skill for their primary profession; that's just one of the more anal requirements of making a character PvP ready. :X

You couldn't technically get *all* skills via capping, as you must complete the primary and secondary profession quests in Pre-Searing, which will give you a few skills. Throwing out those though, I think there are a few skills not available from any boss, like Res Signet. I'm not entirely sure on that though, but it'd be a huge waste of time to check every single boss for every single skill. Grinding for a few hundred extra skill points doesn't sound like a challenge anyway, just a borefest. Unless it was the *old* way of capping skills - which would then be a total nightmare.

Anyone who had to cap Ferocious Strike under the old system is most thankful they made that change.
