Melee-heavy area?

Can someone name some melee-mob heavy areas? Like, for a smite-monk farmer to go to?

Try around the desert, I know the Sand Drakes are melee, and they have pretty nice drops. I don't remember if the Gryphons are melee though, but I think they are.

In Twin Serpant Lakes there are a couple groups of Caromi Tengu Elite, which are melee, and can drop runes.

That's all I can think of right now, I'll add some if I remember any more.

Er, where axactly are the sand drakes in the desert? I tried some Scarabs, and got raped.

Sand drakes are elementalists. They use Earth magic such as quake and aftershock, so they really aren't melee.

If you want to get a mob of melee creatures go to Camp Rankor. to the north of it, right when you go out the portal, go west. you will get to about.. 20-30 griffons in little aggro mobs. just kill them, then zone back to rankor. repeat as needed.

Those Blessed Griffons are smiters themselves (and so are the Azure Shadows that spawn between them), but if you just out-smite them you should be fine.

(hint: their Symbol of Wrath does like -32/second)

The Griffons worked out a lot better. Do they have any nice drops? All I got were wings and a few purple Flamberges.
