please don't flame me.. gwen question

ok so i have used the search function so don't suggest it... lol
ok.. i never bothered with getting the tapestry with my first two characters but i want to try with my elemenalist.. for the past two days i've been trying to give gwen the new flute i bought her and for some reason it doesn't give me the option to give it to her.... i can't remember if i found her broken flute for her.. but i'm almost 95% sure i did.... 3rd character pre is bleeding together... does anyone know if it is bugged right now or if there is any way i can "start over" i tried droppin the flute then picking up with her following me and with her parked.... i really don't know what to do and since i kinda ignored most of the story of the game with my first character i wanted to progress quickly and now i wanna enjoy the story aspects...... please help

The flute is for healing, the cape is for her to follow you into other zones (except towns).

Well I dont know how you are trying to give it to her, from my vague recollection over that it was simply the case of talking to her and the option would show up but giving her the flute is not enough, not even the cape will be enough to get the tapestry and you have to pick up those red flowers and talk to her so you can offer her then, that is what eventually makes her offer the tapestry.

And even if its marked as a quest item it does not have a purpose in game, there is no quest (that I been able to see) thats requires it.

i know about the healing i've done it before.. gave her the flute i mean... but for some reason when i click her after i bought the flute the option isn't showing... what i'm wondering is am i just screwed now?.... can i give her the flowers and stuff without havin given her the flute first?

I think so ... game is getting wierd lately.

1)if she is following you around then yes you gave her the broken flute (she wont follow you until you have dont that quest)
2) yes you can continue to give her the flowers to get the shred without buying her the flute, I have a couple of chars that got the shred without ever buying her the flute or cloak.

thanx so much... i went and just let mysef be attacked with he rfollowing me with no healin of my own and she does heal me.. so... i'm confused but hey it's working now.... thanx for the help all

Funny thing for me is I bought her a cape and a flute when I accidently sold her broken flute and could not get another. So I offered her both at the same time and she took both and followed me till that fateful day. I made a new character, found and gave her the broken flute but for some odd reason she would not accept a new flute or the cape I bought her. However her appearance changed to show her with a cape and even without the notice I had recieved a tapestry shred from her, it appeared in my inventory...

yeah the same problem happend to me i cant give her the flute.

and what does the shred do anyway?im confused...

I think everything with gwen right now is still speculation. I dont think there is any answer, atm, to what to do with those three items.

I'm sure that you can use some of those items in some Quest in Post Searing. I see Sarah (Gwen's Mother) every time I go to the Under World. She asks about her daughter and such but I am always doing something else and never cared or had time to look into it any further.

yea, i have gwen's broken flute, tattered girls cape, and tapestry shred...nooo idea what they're for though..I don't think anyone does, really

After you get the tapestry, ascend and talk to Ellie Rigby in Ascalon City. You'll be glad you did! =)

Where is Gwen in Post searing?

You know that when you reach a certain lvl she automatically has the cape and flute and you have to click on her to follow you. When you first begin at lvl 1 character you get her broken flute, give her a new one and cape and she'll follow you sooner. But to receive the tapestry, all it is is giving her the iris flowers you find on the ground. It's totally random how many you have to give her before she gives you the tapestry. If you keep giving her 1 at a time and she doesn't give it to you, then pick up 3-4 and just give them to her 1 right after another and usually you'll get it that way.
