Post Your Crappest Gold & Purple

I have noticed a bad trend of Late. You work Your Ass off to get a GOLD or PURPLE Drop and when you Finally get one. Is so messed up you can't use it and nobody can even wants it. Also why are Ice Elementals Dropping Fire Items??. Now I only farm Part-time and Only to get stuff for me or my Guild. So my question is this Is Loot drop completely random and is anybody else having this Problem.

Gold Scroll Energy +10 Energy – 5 Health +12
Purple Idol Energy +12 Health –50 Armor +5 when Health is < 50%

Now there have been worse ones, but that is what I still have.

So long story short the Loot system Needs some serious work!!!!!

I did one mission today with 4 other people (one dropped). I got 3 gold items, 1 purple item, and 1 blue item. Two had nice upgrades for my ranger, two had runes, and the blue was just crap like usual . And this is along with all the other cheap white items I had stored up...really quite a nice run

And five minutes or so after, I got another gold drop. So then I ask the group I'm with (who later turn out to be morons, so this may not be reliable) if they had noticed the drops getting better lately. The answer was "no"...Maybe ANet finally felt pity for rangers and gave them uber-drops, I don't know

I got a gold axe 4-9 (written in white) with no mods or nothing.

Before the last patch those dropped like crazy.

This was quite common, and an annoyance. But if you IDed it, you could increase the value up to 300-400g, so at least it wasn't a complete waste.

GOLD ebon flatbow, its not even high damage, 13-20 i think

only thing is, i dont know what im supposed to do with it. can it be salvaged and get something tradable from it? i mean, is ebon a good prefix for a bowstring, if it IS one?

Apparently purple and gold items with no prefex, suffix, or innate enchantments are STILL dropping. Got a plain old purple item yesterday that ID'd as NOTHING, just a plain item.

It's kind of wierd -- I've always gotten kick-ass bows when I'm playing my monk, but not really getting anything good when playing on my ranger. But lately I've gotten quite the opposite -- complete crap on my monk and a ton of good items on my ranger (none bows though ). So either Anet has increased drops for rangers, or it all comes down to dumb luck.

Just happened to me last time I was playing.

My crappest gold item:

A gold 13-25 Shadow bow of Pruning. I gave it away but I also rember that it had some sucky inheareted things.

Edit: The requirment was 10 my fight 14-26 shadow bow has the same requirment.

That wasn't what they fixed. What they fixed was specifically armor. Your purple or gold items were I'm guessing weapons. If you look they probably had a fairly low requirement.

Pshh...if my 15-28 gold bow has no mods it better have requirement 1 Marksmanship or less

I never used to get gold drops, then one day I got 2 gold salvage items in one day, I ID'd them both hoping for a superior rune of some kind, all I got were 2 crappy major runes that the trader offered 25 gold for! It not like i could sell them to people when they could buy them for like 100 gold anyway. I think all gold salvage items should give superiors.

I'd say you are wrong about the rangers, I am a ranger and ive gotten 2 purples and no rares since the last 2 updates.

But if people buy them for 100, shouldn't you sell them for 75? Sell price is always 25% lower than the buy price.

I was thinking about it, and nothing actually says that gold has to be good. gold designates it as being rare. not uber.

perhaps we have all assumed to much when it comes to the color of weapons.

Drops are all random when it comes to purple, gold, and dyes. I too have had gold items with NOTHING in them. I still used a sup salvage kit and got a rare crafting material from it though. Bolts of Silk and Steel ingots...

Maybe the point of a regular old gold item is to just give you some extra gold or some rare salvage items.

When I play my Warrior all I seem to get is crap like fire wands and air staffs.....very few gold items (3 to be exact since I bought the game) if it's purple it is almost always a bow or a rune for a mesmer or something.....starting to feel a little cheesy.

I can go thru a mission/quest and watch teammates pull gold and purple items all over the place but I'm lucky to get the occasional blue to drop once in 2 missions

That gem was droped on my 1st or 2nd post searing quest.....heh like I had all that skill

i've gotten two golds....in 144 hours of playing(including AFK time )...one of them is a Fiery Ram's Hammer of Enchantment....not max dmg(17-33) no good modifiers(+14% dmg while enchanted, enchants last 15% longer)....I can't freaking give this thing away.

The other is a Storm Artifact. +12 energy +31HP(while enchanted)...This item actually has some decent modifiers on it...but wtf wants a storm artifact.

Neither of the items have yeilded me any gold...I might as well have left them on the ground. At this point I'm about to just trash them to clear out the inventory space.

I got a bunch of Hammer Grips and Sword Pommels, a staff wrapping and I think an axe grip...ALL USELESS. Can't sell em...can't trade em...can't give em away. All because they have shit modifiers.

I'd say at this point in the game (just got to Druids Overlook) I've yet to get a single usefull/valuable drop.


but I do have 378 Tanned Hide Squares....cuz that's usefull
