People play games for all sorts of reasons Deathlord. The story of Ascalon is incomplete intentionally, is it not? That is why ANet has stated there will be expansions to come in the future.
Without giving anything away for everyone who hasn't done it yet, the entire PvE game is a story of disaster, escape, revenge and hope.
Unlike any other titles I have played, the NPC characters remain persistent throughout the game; not some guy who gives you a "
blah blah blah" speech at the beginning and you never see him again. The NPC people you meet in Pre-searing will be there at the end. Well, some of them...
Wasted all that time for nothing? Why bother watching a movie or reading a book? It's all going to have a beginning and an end. Is it just time wasted because you didn't get the anticipated reward at the end?
No. As has been said before, it's not the destination but rather the journey that makes the adventure.
I too have completed the PvE game - once - and am now trying different class combinations to see if I can win other ways.
If the game was entirely too easy for you, don't use your Warrior/Monk!
I suggest a Mesmer build instead.
