Royal Papers

Ok I just did the Royal Papers Quest (3 times) and every time I open the chest I get NO PAPERS!! Has anyone else had this problem??

I've never had the problem myself. Did you try maybe with just henchmen? Maybe it would mess it up to go in with somebody that already has the quest completed. That is the only thing I can think of. Unless by some small chance you completed the quest and it wasn't added to your log.

Does your quest log say "return the papers to captain so and so.." If that is the case, it could be that you triggered that part of the quest then died, but it didn't refresh the quest.

In which case what you will want to do is abandon the quest and then pick it up again and see if maybe that fixes it. If that doesn't than i'm afraid i'm stumped.

Before this patch, the henchmen would get assigned the drop sometimes, and thus nothing drops. If you do it with real people, only one person would get the quest at a time. I don't know if they fixed this now, but if not, grab a run skill, and make a run for it.

Did it with henchies all three times. Abandon the quest before I tried the third time. I never got the "return the papers to captain so and so.." I died some before I got to the chest but never died after getting there.

Maybe I will try running for it or getting my henchies killed before I open the chest next time.

For now I need a break from that quest.......it pissed me off really bad

dsn't matter if your hench is dead or not. They'll still be assigned loots. So basically if you take 6 henchies with you, you have 1/6 of a chance to get the paper. Sucks I know. You gotta do it solo, and that won't be easy either.

If you open the chest and nothing pops out, rest assured one of your henchies has it in their safe keeping.

Well that Blows Guess I will try it solo tomarrow. Got to get some rest for now. Work in 4hrs

Had to do this quest two times a couple of days ago with my brother, cause the papers would only drop for one of us at a time. Kinda sucks...

Its in the chest, did you check the chest?

Yes we found out that you have to keep doing it until YOU get the chance to go to the chest. The good news is that it is not that hard of a quest fighting wise to get to.

Well, I tried it solo and got mobed and died in short order. Then I loaded up with henchies and cleared the area of the chest, proceeded to get the henchies killed off, went back to the chest and the papers dropped.

I think the quest is a little glitchie but oh well I got it and got the skills for it.

The key was killing all of the Tengu gaurding the chest, leave one alive and you will never get the Papers.

Ya like I said I think there is a bit of a glitch in this Quest. I think for Quest's anyone should be able to pick up the item for the entire party. That way if a henchie gets the item then you still get the quest. Or better yet make it so henchies can't get quest items.

I'm having the same problem. I just did it with henchies. The group died 3 times against the tenju and when I was finally on the last one, I died. Alesia revived my character, but when I opened the chest, there were no papers.
