I've never seen a dev team so responsive and directly in touch with the community. This patch includes:

AI pathing fix
Dropped players replaced by henchmen (for PvP)
4000 xp for Galrath quest

I know there's already a thread about the patch, but this isn't about the patch. This is simply to commend Anet for being so on the ball... so approachable. If any Anet devs or messenger-monkeys happen to read this thread, please pass the word on behalf of the community (I'm sure I'm not being presumptuous here) and on behalf of gastropods everywhere:

Good job!!!

Sorry to spoil the attitude but I must point out that it's already a month after a lot of this was pointed out

If they correct the earlier mistakes though, I'm happy.

I have to wonder, what was the conversation like when they decided to add ale to the game? It was probably after a big party at the devs HQ.

'HOOOOOOOLY JUMPIN JESUS MAN! THIS GAME IS SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER WHEN YOU'RE DRUNK!'

'woooooooooooow it is! how can we share this magical moment with everyone else?'

*sounds of puking in the background*

Possibly after some of it was first pointed out. There needs to be the necessary time to program it and/or look at it's effects on gameplay before just randomly sticking it in.

Wow lots of nice changes, lets hope they are on the way to added a kick function for pve and the ability to replace players in pve missions with henchmen and/or re-join a game. The AI running off after death was probably one of the most annoying bugs.

It was pointed out right at the beginning, even before May. It just took a couple of weeks for the second tier of rushers to get far enough to experience the grind and start complaining about it and make everyone notice. Most people were not worried about acquiring elites/runes etc when they were still stuck at Divinity Coast the first few days of the game but there were warnings by those who had gotten that far since those people were also the ones who knew the game best in alphas/betas.

Programming may take awhile but certainly not near a month for what they did today. Still, it takes a lot of courage to admit your previous approach was wrong and completely redo it and if they follow through I am happy.

I'm one of those grumpy PvP players who always complains about grind, and I have one thing to say:

Anet, you've restored my faith.

This is a great update, and once again highlights the great technology behind it: You see just a few files downloaded when you start up Guild Wars, and everything is updated, without any downtime at all! This is so much better than any other online game out there.

They may not surf this forum specifically (although it is on their top forums list) and definately not this forum exclusively, but any suggestion or request made by email is met with "put it on the forums and see how the community responds"

And given that the things most commented on are the things most often fixed, I'd say that they're well aware...

side note: I've also noticed that every update/change/addition brings with it a whole host of complaints and lots of fiery threads that revolve around how Anet was "fixin what ain't broken" Whatever, they "fix" because there's demand. Nice that they didn't just take our money and run.
