near the begining of thunderhead keep mission. Right after you cross the long bridge, there is a guy on a mounted elephant. Might ahve to try a few times, as i notice this boss changes some times.

He does appear in different spots in Thunderhead also... there are several bosses in that mission and they switch them around. He's there, I've run the mission about 20 times and seen him in 3 places. It's also one of the main reasons I bring Distraction Shot of this mission. It's hard to catch, but if you do, he's toast.

Despite being a Protection spell, it's a terrible spell for a protection monk to bring, since it disables all protection spells for a while.

Also want to make sure everyone knows, it doesn't automatically negate all damage, like some think. It just converts up to X damage to healing, like Reversal of Fortune.

Mark of Protection and Reversal of Fortune do negate all damage for their duration. They then heal for the damage done, up to some maximum.

If you were to take a 1000 damage attack with RoF on, you would lose nothing and gain a certain amount of HP depending on your Protection level.

If you cast a lvl 0 mark of prot or RoF, they're going to take damage.

I take back what I said, I just tested it and you're right. ROF and presumably Mark of Protection as well only negate what they return to you as healing, while the balance of the damage goes through.

I use Mark of Protection on both my healing monk pvp builds and prot monk pvp builds. Its IMO one of the 2 best monk elites besides shield of judgement for UW purposes. Anyways, MoP is Extremely helpful when a team-mate is low on health or when your trying to stay alive. Whenever I cast it upon myself I dont die. Simple as that. MoP is elite in every way and even though it refuses prot spells for 10 seconds, who cares, its not like your gotta be dying for a Reversal of Fortune every time it recharges. Cmon ppl there are not many Immediate Prot spells that are used and besides every good Prot monk must have healing skills. MoP defines elite.

Interesting thing I've noticed about Mark of Protection's protection prayer disabling effect-

Mark of Protection SETS the recharge of all protection prayers you have to 10 seconds.

If it was charged, it now takes 10 seconds to recharge, obvious.
The odd thing is, when you've recently used a skill like Aegis or Sheilding Hands, which take 30 and 25 seconds to recharge respectively, it REDUCES the recharge time remaining to 10 seconds. So, following them up with it helps more than it hinders.

Pacifism and Convert Hexes are the only other non-elite spells with recharge times over 20 seconds, though, so I doubt this can be made use of effectively. [Haven't tested the above, but the same should hold true regardless]
It is interesting still.

it is not like you even want to cast aegis just before you do the MoP.

you don't want your target to get less attacks thru. cause every attack against him will basicly heal him.

Another little tidbit I just played with, MoP itself has a recharge time of 45 seconds, which is NOT brought down to 10 when it is recharging, but IS increased to 10 when it is ready to cast. Yeah, I know, sounds weird, but if you get a mesmer secondary and use Arcane Echo, you can cast Echo, then cast MoP. This replaces your Echo with another MoP, which takes 10 seconds before you can use it. When you do use it, the original MoP does NOT get reset to 10 seconds (ie you still need to wait the rest of the 45 second timer out). By the time your original MoP is able to be used again Echo has worn out. This does, however, let you cast two Marks of Protection

Oh, and Arcane Echo is unlinked so you don't have to allocate any attribute points to it in order for it to be effective!
