On the 27th we just need our preorder keys then we can play. With your preorder key you can play from the 27th all the way to the 28th midnight. Then you will need the cd key to continue playing.

Any Ideas to what this may be?

[Speculation hat on.] If it's going to "become apparent" tomorrow (rather than "be announced"), it's going to be something we can see for ourselves. That could be something that'll be seen in the ongoing beta, but I'm guessing something that'll be visible to everyone. So my money's on: look for an upgraded official website tomorrow.

I think that this might differ depending on the retailer. I might be lying, though. EB ships on the 26th (at least, it says expected shipping date).

However.. the thing is, ANet does give preorder customers a sort of "grace period" of 48 hours, starting as the clock stricks midnight and the pacific coast of the US enters the 27th of April. Of course, Cinderella goes home on midnight (12:01am, the 29th). But, hopefully, this bracket of time will accomodate any discrepancies in shipping, and if it doesn't, at least it might alleviate the anxiety of waiting for at least two days.

Regarding the availability of the game to those who ordered on-line...

Usually on-line retailers (and retailers in general) have access to the actual product a day or two before the release date. (I'm speaking from US retail experience here). This allows them time to merchandise the product, get displays set up, etc for retailers, and allows on-line retailers time to get the product shipped out.

For those customers who select a next-day shipping method, the goal is usually that the end user have the product on the same day that it would be available in the store.

Of course, all of this is dependent upon ANet following normal distribution channels and timelines (and we have no reason to suspect that they are not).

I really hope we get to see this "Big Project" ASAP... if it's so big that the wallpaper designers had to stop making wallpapers to do it, everyone at Anet must be in on this business.

I'm really sorry, but the Big Project™ was delayed. We'll definitely have something to show next week, perhaps as early as Monday. But there's nothing to see here... move along, move along.

I was screaming at my computer this morning, because the power went out and I wanted to see the Big Surprise!!! Whatever it is, it's taking at least 3 weeks, and it obviously takes you guys that much time or less to revamp an area, so it MUST be BIG. I'll be waiting all spring break for your surprise!

Oh, Nudge, this is nothing as major as a new area of the game. Oh, gosh, this isn't anything like that at all, and now I'm worried that someone is going to be all disappointed. "That's it?" they cry, "This isn't a major project! This isn't even a semi-major project! This is only a small-to-middlin' project at best!"

I guess we'll take our chances on Monday (almost certainly) and let you decide if it's worth even mentioning. :-/

I'm guessing that it's a new web site design, a revamp of the existing site, or the "online manual" for the game ... just a guess.

Maybe one of the devs got a really cool hair cut, but they cut it to short so they need to wait till moday for the hair to grow a little longer
