Very good idea. I'm sick of inviting 7 monks in order to find one that's afk.

there is a status indicator in the friends list:
online, away, busy, appear offline, i believe.. are the options.

i noticed doing /afk is simply a /sit, and the status indicator is still "online".

perhaps either adjust /afk so that:
1) /afk adds "<AFK>" next to their name (or something similar)
2) /afk will make character /sit AND also set status indicator to "AWAY" option.

Yes, AFK tagging would be a very nice feature.

also, if I go AFK on my friendslist/guildlist it says i'm offline! I'm not offline, just not really there It should just color my name sligtly darker or something, don't dim it out and throw it in with the rest of the offline people.

Two nice things from previous games I played (lol, got sucked in by GW and play little else now) :: one game put the (AFK) at the end of the characters name, so other players knew they were not there upon seeing them, and the other game simply flagged the character, so that if they received group invites or private messages, people got a "This player is currently AFK" type message.

I am no programmer, and do not know what would be involved in doing this, but it would be nice to have a feature like the above listed or similar to help the issue this thread is dealing with.

How about whispering a person instead of spamming them invites? If they don't answer, you know they either aren't there or don't want to join. If they are there, they may tell you they don't want join or that they aren't interested. How about maybe, just mayb, they aren't AFk and simply don't want to party?

But why not just implement an AFK feature that's visible and prevent all of that? That would cut down so much frustration.

this idea sounds tasty. I walk up to so many people inviting but they just ignore me. Im assuming they are afk....unless im just a loser.....lol.

/afk still does not change our status to away. I feel this is needed. It usually type /afk, but forget to change my status ._.

And how else would we be able to fool that annoying noob who you accidentally made friends with. I have one who would follow me around like a lost puppy. Thank G_d for portals!
All i did was run him from Ascalon to the Wilds so he could get a hog.
