Farming for weapons.

Ive never farmed before cuz until recently I never reall knew what it was. But Ive read some good advice about getting good money and equipment by farming. As it is, the only thing Im really wanting are good runes and the perfect bow. Its there places that you can farm that increases your changes for getting these equipment? Or are all drops completely random?

does anybody know anything about good farming in general then?

I wasn`t farming but I got a lot of Purple drops that had Runes in them while doing the quests out of Yak`s Bend to the Borlis Pass and Iron Horse mines. I went back through the other day and didn`t get anything. Over a 5 day period I average 3-4 Purple Drops a day.

Farming - Killing the same monster over and over to get good drops. There have been spots in the game where certain creatures gave more or better drops so people "farm" them. Anet has heard of a few and corrected them so as to vary the drops in those area. I dought if someone knows of a good farm spot they`ll tell you as they won`t want it adjusted.

Is there a place that gives up good bow drops?

Not that I know of but I`m just past Lion`s Arch. I have a purple bow but don`t remember where I got it. Probably in the Yak Bend Area, I spent a lot of time doing the quest and adventuring there.

A good monster to farm are the Drakes in Kryta. To get to them, head to the south beaches in the Gates of Kryta mission... They're in a specific spot, but I can't remember where, exactly. They're level 18 each, but they have a bad attack for their level, and the items they drop are first-rate. Ascended players farm off them, even.

Hmm, hard to farm as a ranger.. but I used to do it right near the Gates of Kryta mission sometimes (not on the drakes) but now that I am higher level I will try the drakes.

I have yet to find a purple or gold bow, I've found blue bows, but never a gold or purple.. I have found gold axes and hammers, purple staves but NEVER A BOW... ARGGG!

Ive got one yellow bow. its a vampiric long bow of defence with max damage. Its real nice, but not what Im looking for, Im looking for max damage halfmoons and max damage longbows. I would customize them to my liking (I got a zealous and poison string ready)

u can get alot good weapons by killing the level 24s at lonars pass, ive a few nice max damage purple swords and just the other day i found a 14-28 damage half moon with +11 when health<50%

they are tough so u usually cant solo, which lowers the ammount of items you get to keep but i have found some nice ones

I had 2 purple bows and a gold half moon that I was trying to sell the other day in Ascalon city - no takers. Where were you people when I needed to make some quick cash.

I farm alot of different places all depends on where you want to go. I have found alot of max dmg bows,axes,swords and other things. My most impresive drops would have been the max dmg eternal bow and max def eternal shield that i got out of fissure of woe and underworld.

In your experience, what are the most recommended monsters for getting max. damage swords? I`m getting staves, bows and hammers mostly in the desert and Perdition Rock and i want some swords (to use and to get sword upgrades for myself, W/Mo sword/strength).

The other day in the Fissures, 3 max shadow bows dropped in the first couple of quests. So I'd recomend you start there.
