After rotating between Disciples II:DP + expansions, starcraft and D2 on the PC bought Sim City 4 and played it for a week....then I found the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowing in the box that came with my computer. I tried to enjoy that game, I really did...maybe it was too old or something because I gave up on that pretty fast two.
Before and during all that, I played all the Zeldas on my N64 and GC. Zelda is my favorite title...and since the next one doesn't come out until this june, I started to look for something else to occupy my time. That's what brought me to GW actually, because I described the perfect game to my friend at EB games and that's when Guild Wars came up. So, now I'm obsessed. Simple, really.
P.S. I'm probably the only one, but I love waiting for GW to come out. It reminds me of the times I used to get really excited about games and systems coming out, and trying to earn enough money to buy them. 'tis a good feeling to have back.

I've played quite a few games. Right now I'm on a quest to beat all of the Legend of Zelda games, I'm a big fan of the series, and I have three down (OoT, WW, and...the first one) with three more in progress (LttP, LA, and AoL [that's the second one]). Anyway I'm a long time console gamer mostly because up until this year I've had a mac and only one phone line. Guild Wars is my first big game.
Lol, just yesterday I beat Super Mario World for the first time!
I have an NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast (bought it at full price just before it took the huge fall...kinda sucks...), a PS2, Game Boy Color, and GBA. Well, that's me um...try Mr. Mosquito, Guitaru Man, other crazy Japanese games you guys, it's a great gaming experience and something really new as compared to other game genres!

Well what lead me to mmorpgs was the pen & paper rpgs of old.First was Marvel superheroes, some of D&D,and various Palladium Books releases.Played the original Guantlet at the arcades when it first came out.I basically have tried and played just about every genre of games out there. Most likely I'll be a kid at heart for life.I am totally amazed at the technological marvels that todays games employs. And I can just imagine what the future holds for all of us gamers

Hmm... well, I'm a big fan of the Legend of Zelda series, as well as the Myst series. I even beta tested the short lived Uru: Ages Beyond Myst (which still exists as an online game, but in a drastically reduced fashion... but it's still fun). I've got several from the Final Fantasy series, and the Sonic the Hedgehog series is good for a cathartic frenzy of smashing stuff. Katamari Damacy is a more recent love of my life.
And just to prove I'm not only taken by franchizes, I really enjoyed UbiSoft's Beyond Good and Evil. Basically, I like doing stuff, I like looking at stuff, and I like moving around and talking to people while doing and looking.

Long term games I have played that relate to Guild Wars would be Quake1, Ultima Online and Shadowbane.

Started with the Secret of Monkey Island and Sam N Max...then to the Age Of series (AOE, AOM, AOK, etc), Serious Sam, Unreal Tournament (original and 2k3 and 2k4), Syberia, Syberia 2, No One Lives Forever, Rise of Nations, WoW.....
I am not a big consoler, but I could still run through any of the Sonic games wth my eyes closed, Oddworld : Abe's Exodus, Tetris (
), Animal Crossing (still playing after almost 3 years!), Zoo Keeper (for the DS)...
I think that's about it. there are many other games peppered within those I listed, but those are my faves.

Playing some old N64 games right now to kill the time till GW....and since my uber-comp blew up I can't do much with this 800mhz thingy right now anyways...tomorrow my comp will get repaired yay
) it was the best gaming time ever when the game was at its peak... Huge community, fast and agressive gaming style, korean uberownage, ... Those were the days
