Me/E - Which Element ?

The idea was fairly simple, a classic disruption/hate Mesmer with an elemental attribute to give some damage dealing options and round the character off. My first though was to go with Air, for spells like Blinding Flash, Lightning Javelin and Enervating Charge. I've not really found these to work that great so far though, and I'm leaning more towards anti-caster than anti-warrior, which these don't really match.

So, the question is, What element, if any, should I go with ? Fire for pure damage, Earth for knockdowns and defence, maybe Water for Slowing and other useful abilities ?

Any thoughts ?

against warriors, earth/air for lots of knockdowns... water is pretty useless in my opinion. fire for raw damage.

I use fire to deal some good damage. The Mesmer skills are disruptive enough, don't need water or air for that.
