W/Mo bash :(

man, when i first saw this game i was like neat! My friend got it and i came over. He chose a Mo/E. I really liked how monks played and then i decided to get the game and i wanted to use swords, and be able to help others, so i picked a W/Mo. Little did i know that these were very,very common, and got bashed or being noob like, and really easy to play. I dont feel great playing this W/Mo16 of mine cause i feel like everybody else and a sheep. It just kind of bogs me down heh. Should i change when i ascend or should i stay the same? thanks in advance.

why do you care what others think? if you like your character then play it. If i was playing and anyone typed to me that I was a n00b because of my character choice id type back to f* off. Then I would go about playing my game.

Yes, they are popular. But its not because its easy, its because its a good solid class combo. Dont forget there are a variety of w/mo's too, healing, smiting and protection. If you want to change you certainly can, thats part of the beauty of the game, but dont go change just because its the 'most popluar class.' I wonder, percentage wise, just how many people play a w/mo prime? I would bet under 20%, so its not even that popular.

I went warrior/monk because I wanted to be able to res, thats about it. I have no urge to heal people. I use full warrior skills and Res. Been using it since beta.

Wa/Mo's are all over the place, and even though I think their overplayed.... I have one too... Oh c'mon, stop laughing at me! I just wanted a pvp melee character and Wa/Mo was the only pre-made..... I said stop!

Seriously though, you'll get that because a lot of people play Wa/mo's, and a lot of Wa/mo's are freakin retards. Not all of them, but a lot.

But there's some very good Wa/mo combo's out there, both with smiting and protection. For healing... ehhh.... You should have a monk to heal near you anyway.

heh alright thanks! also, do you think guilds want w/mo? or do they look for other types of combos. (btw, im sure they do, but im wondering if there in as high in demand)

I would think there's a good demand for Wa/mo's. Their great PvE so you can easily help guildmates get through missions and quests. Can't really speak for GvG however.

I dunno, you shouldn't have too much of a problem getting one anyway. With the sheer size that guilds can be, they'll probably just take you because your a cool person.

If you enjoy playing a war/mo, go for it. I've tried a lot of warrior builds, and I like it because it's the most hardy. If it's done right, it doesn't need much of the monk's attention in a group, which helps your party. I think the key thing to note would be to watch your play style. Try to let the spellcasters regen between fights. Make sure you're not too far ahead of the group. Listen to whom ever is leading when it comes to tactics in battle. If you can do those things, and be a team player, you don't deserve any bashing for your class... War/Mo has a bad reputation not really for the class, but from the way folks play it, often getting their groups killed because of impatience or lack of teamwork.

If you like him, definitely ascend him. If you want to change your secondary later, that's always an option after Ascention. Good luck! My two cents...

I have a W/Mo too because I want to tank and take care of myself when playing alone. I don't care about the masses and Warrior is an easy class to learn. I started off with an Elementalist/Monk, its level 20 so now I have something new to try. Along with a Ranger/Elementalist and a Monk/Mesmer

I don't care if any of my choices are common or not, I'm just having fun playing them.

People do hate W/mo because

1. They are the most popular dual-class of the game. Go in a city or the tombs and 1/3 are W/mo

2. They are also really good tank against non warrior class such as El. And they usualy go for those and that's what make those people angry because they ALWAYS die to the same class. ( from personal experience, my El/Mo die 4/5 of the time from a W/Mo, and yes im always pissed to see its a W/Mo but its only a game and i usualy say ok he got me i should play diferent next time )


There is a lot of potential for W/Mo, they are quite good in PvP like i said earlier in the text. They are needed imo in PvP to tank the stuff around. And there is guild that will want a W/Mo im pretty positive ^^

Im sorry but I have to disagree with you. Most of warrior monks I got to know in pvp, MOST of them are punch of ratarded. They always put their heads for others to kill. Many of them just jump right over the opponent team when the gate is just opened, because they think that they can tank, they can beat other with healing.


Well! Im playing a ranger now so there is no reason for me to jealous with them (and They can just never beat me ) but from what I have seen they are really punch of retarded ( Im saying MOST ). I remembered there was couple pvp with 3 warrior/monk and I am a ranger. The opponent team was 2 monks, 1 elementalist, 1 meser. 3 of warror/monk aimed at the closest monk however they dont even know that it was a trap. When 3 of them were busying kicking the monk, the elementlist just meteored a group of 3 warror/monk and none of them bothered to move away from the spells' area, because they thought that they can heal. Finally, none of them could survive. They just hit and heal, heal and hit untill they got killed by meteored backfire........

There are many stories of Warrior/monk, Most of warrior monks are either ratarded or idiots. So far, I only see that War/Em are those who knows how to take care themselves, are those who knows how to retreat when needed because they can't tank.

I'm a Rgr/Mo myself, and I see as many of my class as War/Mo, I wouldn't consider any class over played personally, or 'noobish' combo's. Some people are incompetent and make assumptions based on their own opinions and are too willing to spurt them out rudely any chance they get. Ignore their idocracy and smile, knowing that you are more mature than that individual and will get further in life, and probably in game as well, in your accomplishments down the road. Maturity and respect goes a long way, alot further than ignorance and petty rude comments.

The reason Wa/Mo's are seen is noob is because, they really are. It is considered noob, not in the insulting sense, because this combo is easy for someone new to get familiar with the game. But because they are easy to use, it attracts more idiots who want the easy way out. They want a character they can "pwn" with. My warrior has completed all the secondary path quests and personally, I only use Wa/Mo to farm for items and gold. I use Wa/N for normal PvE and Wa/Me for PvP.

All classes are important. Wa/Mo is no exception, especially when you're doing PvE. My first class was a Wa/Ra, 'cause I wanted to be THE ULTIMATE KILLING MACHINE. Turned out that I wasn't, but having a pet called 'Lacerator' was nice for a while.

W/Mo is popular because it is the most simple and effective solo PvE class. It is therefore considered noobish, because the one thing this game isn't focused on is solo PvE.

Its easy to form judgements about a class or build when you see it a lot, but how they perform in combat always comes down to how all the players involved play.

When theyre the most used build, and 'alot' of people so soon after release dont know a whole heap about all the builds, its easy to come to the conclussion that W/Mo is easy to 'own' in pvp, but theyre not. No class when used with thought, a bit of experiance, and in a team strategy is going to be easy to kill.

As a warrior, take it as an excuse to use shield of judgement elite and upgrade your res line. Healing warriors spend too much time..eh...healing.

I have to say I love all the "noob bashing" going on all the time. People constantly complaining about W/Mo and only noobs use them. First I suppose that means I'm a noob because I participated in BWE's and I've made my first W/Mo ever. I never bothered to go all out in BWE's only because I knew characters would eventually get reset. So I dabbled here and there. Second every one of you were noobs regardless of what you think. So instead of simply bashing W/Mo profession you're better of bashing the person playing it not the profession. I admit I haven't beaten the game yet, just took warrior past acsension and other quests. I'm in no hurry and I don't know everything. I've yet to recieve any complaints about me being W/Mo. It's really just the player that makes the job sucky. The fact there are so many out there well oh well choose wisely. Every party I've been in has needed a tank and 9/10 times it's W/Mo. For most used class, abused class, noob class they sure get picked a lot. It's really just about the player and how well he/she plays their job. If I don't know something about a quest I ask before I do anything rash. Maybe cause I'm smarter than the average bear, but I also think of my team. I don't want to spend 30 minutes getting to a location or part of a quest then do something foolish like rushing out when people are ready or sliding by a group of enemies for some reason.

Another thing I feel is that it is soooo much easier to pick out a W/Mo who doesn't really know everything than any other job who sits back casting. If you get a E/Me "noob" you won't generally see them running up and tanking. It's harder for them to make a mistake. Biggest mistake they have is choosing a wrong skill to use maybe, tanks have much more to think about than simply casting a spell and staying back, and avoiding melees.

Every class has noobs some stick out more than others. I'm not saying post player names of suck people. But I think you should hate the player not the job.
