8v8 and Alliance battles question!!!!![urgent]

i made a pve preview A/Rt, its just it seems kind of boring with it. if i delete this character and make a PvP-only preview character will i be able to participate in random 8v8, and alliance battles this weekend?
or are those for PvE only?

8v8 is PvE to the best of my knowledge.

12v12 is anything. The only differences between is where you start (Factions created PvE has to go to a town / PvP created has to go to the guild).
