The new 12 vs 12 battle, it reminds me of Day of Defeat, I'm loving it!
But, the leavers are annoying.
Please send in replacements for the quiters.
Thank you.
At the moment, players create teams of 4 players, and then click enter mission, and they get paired up with 2 other teams of 4 players, then them 12 players get ready for battle.
I propose the following changes:
- Allow single player to enter mission, these will act as replacements for the quiters who quit while the battle is still going on
- Allow teams of 4 to join in teams who has 4 or more quiters
Or, as proposed by DakAtak, fiery
- replace them with henchies
I wish to add on another proposal:
In the event that a player deserts the luxon vs kurschick battle, he will suffer a faction penalty(luxon or kurschick):
- 1,000 faction(luxon or kursick)
This 1,000 faction will be refunded if the following conditions are satisfied:
- he quits the battle, and logs out completely
- the total logged out time is at least an hour
This 1,000 faction will be gone for good if:
- the player quits the battle, and remains in game, without logging off
Negative factions(luxon or kusick) can be achieved, should this happen, the player is denied from participating in alliance battles, until faction(luxon or kusick) is positive again.
Look, its well damned normal for the luxons or kursicks to get pissed off if you desert their battles for no good damn reason.
I suggest that this feature be implemented before 28th April 2006.

Two screen shots for ya all to see:
You should get a better internet service provider if that is the case. Are you telling me that the Kurzick and Luxon should not be unhappy by the fact that you deserted their battles?
No.
There must be some penalty imposed, or else the rage quiters will just keep on rage quiting, ruining the gaming experience for everyone else.
And while we're at it, what the hell are non level 20's doing in the Alliance battles?
I've seen a level 8 and a level 13 in my team today!
This is ridiculous!
The Alliance Battles should be off limits to non-max level characters. Period.
I stand firm by my opinion that some form of penalty MUST be imposed upon those rage quiters who quit in the 12 vs 12 Alliance Battles. I'm certain when ANET was doing internal game testing, they did not have this issue.
A heavy faction(Kurzick or Luxon) penalty of 1,000 sounds just fine by me.

No. I don't like any penalty's. It's not a-net's style anyways. Henchie or human substitutes I like. |

yea it should def be locked to lvl 20.. and i agree with the penalty the experience of being in a team that leaves before either team has reached a 200 is incredibly frustrating..
btw theres already a thread like this dont kno wat came first but saw this 2nd so they should prob be merged (think in the factions forum)

I'd agree. A penalty to faction for the side a leaver is supposed to fight for is appropriate. But one thing that must be noted, is that a rage quitter is going to be an ass anyway, whether he "can" leave, or not. Don't doubt they'll still find ways to ruin your game. The only difference if he's "forced" to stay is they're going to do it where you can see. What we actually need is ingame parents.

I was absolutely enjoying 12 vs 12 untill i had this happen a few times.
It takes a long time for the groups to match up an "opposing party" and then roughly a minute and a half for the mission to start.
So quitters are truly spoiling this. And i don't think they're all rage quitters either. It looks like some people are sabotaging the other sides teams to help their side win, which may be fair in war, but this is NOT how the game was intended to be played. Fix it please.

henches would just run around trying to follow 11 people at the same time, the henchs would have to be programmed different so they would stand on the alters to cap them also....
I think that the game should end also when the other team gets 200 points ahead cause theres no point waiting 10 mins to rack up the last points...its jsut boring.
This is a seprate thing but i would also like to see only level 20s in here iv had a level 3 in my team i was like WTF! althou we still won

ANet should really work out the technology for allowing players to join existing instances. It would solve a lot of these issues (by allowing the proposed fixes).
However, as a stop-gap measure, spawning random Henchmen (or maybe the "missing" class from whoever is still playing) would at least *help*.
Allowing single players to jump in would be great, as another option (instead of "Enter Mission"). This could be used for Random Arena, Team, etc. As long as you can't choose which battle you are jumping into, it should be fine. (You can't let people jump into a specific game, as you could scout out the enemy and then bring in specific counters -- if you see the enemy is running all warriors, you bring in anti-melee Mesmers or something.)
(I'd imagine GvG or HoH should be more restrictive, but hey.)
