One reason for this is the sheer amount of europeons playing in the american realm... heh... i've heard of quite a few.

Well, its not our fault that virtually no one speaks English in the European districts, right? I don't blame the British at all. Luckily, I can manage there, as I can communicate in German and understand a bit of French.

Here is what I know in each server...

Korea- Koreans...
Europe- Western non english speakers... german, spanish, french, italian and so on...
America- whole north america, English speaker from europe, Singapore, Hong Kong, and probably more...

America can stop Korea from taking HoH for couple hours during korean peak time... even during their peak time, HoH's 5 team still consist of at least 2 america teams...

unbalanced? Yes, very... every english speaker around the world that play GW is on the america server... and english is the most widely taught language in the world. Even Korean can type back in english to us, while we can't do jack the other way around... that show how unbalance this is...

I am considering switching to the American server as well. I just think it's incredibly annoying to have people speaking in all kinds of different languages. One way to solve this would be to split Europe into one English-speaking server, and one non-English. If this can't be done, at least rename "District 1" to "English District" or something.

The best would be to make realm servers with fictional names or something, one of which would be for English-speaking Europeans. Maybe have six realms (two mainly for Europeans, two mainly for Asians, and two mainly for Americans and the rest) with fictional names with information about which realm you would fit in.

Example:
Realm of Balthazar (Europe, English).
Realm of Dwayna (Europe, non-English)
Realm of Grenth (North America)
Realm of Lyssa (South America, Australia....)
etc...

Meh, I don't know... I'm just tired of trying to communicate through all the multilingual "spam"... and I'm not even a native English speaker, just think it's logical and more fun to decide on one language and stick with it.

I'm thinking that North America will have to be divided into east and west areas. I'm not sure what the statistics in terms of player count are, but I'm pretty sure that the United States still has a huge proportion of the players regardless.

hmm, what about level restrictions within districts? There are too many people in Beacon's Perch feeling out of place due to many level 20s going to borlis pass...

so the first 20 or so districts are solely for levels 1-15 (cap changes if the level is not available, or is far too low at the time) and the rest for the high levels (16-20+??), so people can instantly party for questing in Uber areas while others try to find the next mission.

My suggestions for areas restrictions (Like they have done in arenas):

Ascalon (1-10),
Ruined Ascalon Region (levels 3-8, 8-15),
Snow Region (levels 8-12, 13-16, 17-19, 20+??),
Kryta (levels 11-14, 15-17, 18+),
Jungle Region (levels 14-17, 18+),
Desert (16+), and
Underworld (Ascended characters only (20))

These are not bad suggestions at all, it is clear that current system is "politically questionable" and unfair for european players because reasons mentioned before

I think Anet should rethink to rebuild this thing before too many european players leave to use american server bandwidths, this is not good to anyone.

since the fussile of woe and underworld and such are areas of the game we bought, it shouldnt be the way that we can enter there or not because our locations. (even if europeans start to keep favors)

I remeber the Times when Guild Wars was one world! It was so nice. The WaW realy annoy me. I think about starting to shout out that alle people should join the american server and stopt this stupid division.

my idea, i think that it should be set to a time, like, everyday, at some global time that is ok, like a weekend ( EVERYONe is on usually on weekends) at some certain time, or only weekened, so everyone has a fair chance, Mainly sat, friday, people wrk, and sunday prople are probably busy, and saturday is just ni the middle of the weekend, some people ill get mad, but i think it will solve the problem.

I totally have to back up most of what has been said.

I've played the through the game twice now (with an ele/me and mo/r) and have only been in the underworld once. The last few days, as there's less and less things to do, I really considered at more than one time, switching to the american realm. I see and hear what kind of loot is there, and although I'm not much into pvp, I want to have the best gear available for pve. Besides, the underworld is way more fun than doing perdition rock or the southern shiverpeaks over and over again.

So either shift things around, so that everyone has a chance to see the underworld at certain times, or make an alternative access point to the underworld. Best for the pve'rs out there would probably be something where you have a comparably tough map (like most of the southern shiverpeaks) to get through, before you can enter the underworld/wissure.

As it is now, I will eventually switch to the American realms, and I guess more and more ppl will do the same, if nothing changes. If everyone is on the same realm, there is no need for a WaW anymore and everyone can have fun in the underworld

I play on the US servers, however I like in the United Kingdom.

was forced to move due to complete lack of English speaking people, and people willing to help others speaking english.

Needless to say the game has been better since the move, while I sometimes have to deal with annoying people... 90% of my time on the US servers have been fun.

the current system is obviously not very fair and many good reasons have been stated above.
What tend to get on my nerves is the people that don't even try to communicate with others in their party, it's impossible to demand a perfect command of english from everyone but alot of ppl are not even trying. Exaples of this is ppl who llok for a party t odo a mission but refuse to even look for a party in english or ppl who simply ignore ignore your all ppl who don't speak their native language.

Props to the dutch ppl they always promote english in a mixed nationality party

I notice many players would like to change the conditions for getting access to the temple levels. That leaves the question: Should there be a differend kind of reward for winning HoH? I remember the old MtG adventure set from Microprose where the 'Gods' rewarded succesfull magicians with a temporary +1 life bonus in the next game. A temporary small pvp only reward would be great for those who like this type of game and it does not influeces the adventure game.

it seems to me like gettingthe underworld is a REWARD for winning, so are you guys saying the losing teams should be rewarded, i dont understad that, by the way, i play sometimes all day long, and i have seen alot more lately of korea having favor, and sometimes europe too, so there cant be much of a problem with taking control away from each other

Korea has a strong feeling of racism against americans. It affects me harsh because I'm white and living in Korea. In Korea white=american. It bothers me to constantly see this Korea vs. America struggle being advertised while I play, and then to later find out that Europe (who I never see in the struggle) is also a contender? It's a really cool idea but it provokes way too much nationalism. Would be much nicer if there was a non-nationalistic and more fair way to do it (I want to go to the underworld... I don't want to play Korea for language issues and I don't want to play America for lag issues... so I'm left playing Europe which never has access to the underworld)

Someone mentioned to me in game that the best European players actually play on the American servers. Wth?
*lol*

Game is based on skill, not hours played. Strong get stronger you say? I've seen a piercing axe (pick axe) that did 6-26 dmg and a chaos axe that does 6-27... WHOA!! SUCH A GODLY ITEM!!!! *gasp*

I'll say that the elite LOOKING COOL items are in the God's Challenge missions but the fact is, you can find very powerful stuff on the Ring of Fire islands as well. Though I must say gunning against Korea isn't easy, it's not impossible either. Calm down ^_^ I don't see a massive change needed.

I don't really like the country system. It's going to inspire more and more racism. Being Asian (though not Korean) in America I am uncomfortable with the specificity of it all. I'd rather that the winning TEAM or GUILD or COLOR got the reward, rather than country or race or region being pitted against each other.

I think maybe Anariel, that you're under the opposite situation but the same situation since I'm white (but not American) in Korea. If it was specific servers like WoW has it would be better... but I think they use the district system because it cuts down on lag more than designated servers do.

Eh?

+1 life in MtG was a 5% health boost.

A 5% health boost seems like it'd be significantly more 'overpowered' than the current bonus. The current favor doesn't seem terribly powerful at all - or perhaps I simply haven't seen the types of drops that come from those unlocked Zones; are they really that powerful?

I suppose I'd like to see a more even split between the 'sides' of the 'war'. It's always more fun when battles go back and forther; currently I see America winning nearly all the matches.

Oh, and hi RTSFirebat! Nice to see a familiar face (Planetside forums).
