Staff or Wand

Currently I'm using a wand with a chalice in the other hand. I've also got a couple of staffheads. The only problem is: I can never find a staff that's better then my wand/chalice combination.
Is the combination wand/chalice(or whatever) mostly better then a staff alone? This way I'll know if I should hang onto the staffheads.

The better staves will eventually drop and will essentially be a combination of a wand and a chalice or other energy boosting item. You may, however, find a really good wand with several modifiers and a really good energy item with good modifiers that, together, will beat out many staves.

it all depends on what u find, ive seen the same questions asked with warriors about sword/hammers/axes, use the best of whatever u find

i would hang onto the staff heads because u never know if u will find a really nice staff later on
