Merchants should give warnings when selling customized/equipped items

I really would like to see Merchants warning us when we're about to sell customized or equipped items/weapons. I just now accidentally sold my 15k Bonelace Tunic because of a sudden lag spike; and a while back a friend of mine accidentally sold a perfect Shot Bow of his that he had on one of his weapon sets.

What do you think? Should merchants warn us before we sell something customized?

wat i do to protect my different wepon sets is put a quest item between the stuff i want to sell and the stuff im gonna keep. also when in the sell tab unselect the equipped items tab at the top and u wont be able to sell equipped wepons and armor. i no ppl who have lost black dye and green wepons just as u described but a quest item is unsellable thus protecting everyhing beyond it.

QFT. There are several threads in this forum about the same subject, so you aren't alone. While I'd like to see the same, its hard to decide where the line is. Once Anet starts putting protective measures on customized equipment, there will be outcries for everything else from greens to craft materials.

Best protect for this hidden money sink? Read the quote.

Why not popup a message when merchanting them too? I think adding these warnings will be for the better for everyone, no? I doubt there are people who merchant massive numbers of greens/customized equipment/dyes/materials, so I don't see the addition of warnings as a potential hassle.

As for this being a gold sink, it's a poor one at best, relying on the players' carelessness or a lag spike to function and causing unnecessary grief when it does.

For now though, putting unsellable items before your precious ones is the best solution.

Meh, I accidentally sold my awesome Fellblade a few days ago.. Guildie gave me a better one, but I was a bit upset.

I <3 that sword...

Anyway, just cram the stuff you don't want to sell into a specific bag and at the merchant, click the button for that bag to hide it... Simple as that.
