I got a quick question..

When the newest Guild Wars (Factions) is released, will it be coming with the first Guild Wars?

When I went to buy GW someone at "EB" told me to wait abit and get the newest one coming out in apirl.

The reason while am asking is, because I would like the first Guildwars also.

And if it comes with the newest one I don't want to buy it now.

Nope, you BUY both games seperately. Guild Wars 1 is a game in itself and Guild Wars Chapter 2 Factions is a whole new game.

I don't think there's any kind of deal to buy them together yet, and I doubt there will be for a while.

They're both stand-alone games, so Guild Wars: Factions does not come with the original Guild Wars. However, if you get the North American pre-order package of Guild Wars: Factions, you get a 14-day, 10-hour trial of the original Guild Wars. I guess if you really liked it you might then be tempted to buy the original Guild Wars, but be warned that a large proportion of the game population will move on to the new version.

yeah i'm sure that even if Anet don't release a box set with both GW and Factions in, then plenty of stores around the world will be doing their own special offers (eg. "Buy Factions get Guild Wars for half price!") However if anet does release a box set of some kind, going by most other companies you could be waiting a few months after the release of Faction before such a thing becomes available.

Buying GW1 and GW:Factions together does not procure any discount or value deal.

The only thing i want is a PvP link. Since i already got the skills locked.

Anyway, GW Factions is a big f*ckover to GW PVE players. As far as i know:

1. Can't bring Prophecies char into Faction
2. Can't bring Faction char into Prophecies

So how do you get all skills ( core skills + either prohpecies or factions) on 1 char?

Only solution: you will be able to unlock them in pvp. If not, this game will be f*cked.

As long as you own Factions and Prophecies, you can do both of these things.

A minor modification to this "As long as you own Factions and Prophecies and you link them together rather than create a new account for each,, you can do both of these things.

Yeah, hey, not true if you own both! Characters can go into any chapter you own.

Ooh, great point... the accounts have to be linked to travel between chapters. Thanks for the memory kick.

Heh, with a new chapter every 6 months, our "free" online game will now cost us $100 a year.

I'd say it's still alot more affordable than $160-180 a year with WoW or Lineage2.

But i thought Factions did contain the original? Do u mean that if u only buy factions you cant go to Tyria and u have to be assasin or ritualist? that would suck.

Find me one single more cost-reward friendly game out there. The hours I've put into GW has to have by now brought the cost/hr of play to mere pocket change.

Yes, you can't go to Tyria, but you have all professions to choose from, so you could have a Canthan Ranger, for example. Rit and Assassin are new and released with Factions, but the other classes remain.

Nah, thats not how it works. When you buy Factions, you are given the option (if you have the Prophecies campaign) to either link the games (your accounts) or play them seperatly. It's highly encouraged to link them if you can.

If you don't have Guild Wars (the Prophecies campaign) then when you get Factions you get to be any of the core professions plus the assassian and the ritualist. If you don't have the original Guild Wars, the only skills you get to use for the six original classes are the core skills. There is a list of these skills floating somewhere.
