I heared that it will finally be possible to fight 1 on 1 in Factions. Is this true?

1v1 is pretty common in GvG actually.

I wouldn't mind seeing a dueling arena if just to test potential builds for 1v1 capability. It wouldn't be a serious gametype, sure, but could it be any less serious than comp arenas?

Theres a reason why this came is called GUILD Wars, not 1vs1 Wars.

Dump it into the guild hall and limit it to members. Problem solved.

it's been confirmed somewhere(backstage pass?) that there's indeed 1 vs. 1 arenas in faction...

personally I don't mind it.

if you don't like then don't attend it...just because you don't like it doesn't mean others shouldn't have the chance to do it.

it could be fun although I'm sure that'll it just end up with one FoTM ownage build at some point, potentially making it a rather shallow affair.

Yeah, there was a frog/Gaile talk a few weeks ago that made it seem pretty certain that there would be 1v1.

Or a really good interrupter can go with

What's so great about mesmers when there are interrupters around? Their 1/4 seconds spells are to shutdown mages only.

Domination mesmer vs anything.

No single class can have like their skills ready made for any impending enemy.

Are there any skills a mesmer can pack that pwns both meelee and casters at the same time ? New players maybe.

I've won against an anti-caster mesmer using a water ele .. Go figure

The 1 on 1 pvp will be used to only to improve the main pvp. GW is really not designed to do 1 on 1 pvp. I would personly like to see other types of pvp. Like have mounts pvp and jousting type pvp.
