Is UW being nerfed or am I just unlucky?

I did a couple Underworld runs last night, and each time in the very first part where the Attaxes are, instead of the normal 2-4 dying nightmares, there were 4-7, yes seven. It wasn't a problem killing them, but I've never seen them spawn like this. They were spawning 2 and 3 at a time as well. Was I just unlucky or has this a new development?

This also happened to me and my necro partner after we've been farming a lot in UW. We had over 6 popup at the first part of the run which was frustrating.

The drops were just as bad. =/

Now we barely get favor, what's up with that. =(

ive seen stupid stuff like that happening, doesnt matter though..easy to pwn, if worst comes to worst, just run and wait for sb recharge :-p

Yeah it wasn't much of a problem killing them like I said, it's just weird how it happened all of the sudden. ALSO, I think in the combined runs I did last night, I got 1 ecto, and my teammate got none. This can be overlooked, but the funny thing is nothing good dropped. We found only 1 chest in total, and it was purple. Almost every single guy either dropped white items or remains/residue.

If the developers decided to nerf the UW, I'm fine with that. If they did, I think it's kinda funny that they wouldn't say anything, but only spring it on us like that.

This is only speculation, I'm pretty sure I was just getting unlucky. It seems like drops tend to be excellent one day and completely suck the next day.

It's all random, and usually it depends on how many people are farming the same area at one time, at the same time. You may end up getting diddly squat one run, and you may see that the Ecto God is being really generous. This is my run last night from a group of 4 Smite Crawlers:

Nice! I wonder, does it matter when your farming? Like you said, it depends on how many people are farming at the same time in the same area. I'm American, so we hardly ever get favor until all the Europeans are asleep and not playing anymore, which is about 12am west coast time.

Maybe it's because all the Americans waiting for favor all jump into the UW at the same time.

Usually if you're one of the first in America to go in, sometimes the Ecto God will bless you; sometimes not. Look at it this way:

Let's say that one 2-man group going into the UW are fighting the first 3 Bladed Aatxe. Let's say that there's a 33% chance for one to drop an Ecto.

Now, let's say 10 more 2-man groups enter the UW. Your chances of getting an Ecto due to overfarming may be 3% now.

20 groups? .003%

Etc, etc...

My Math may be wrong, but it does show sometimes diminishing returns, aka that the more the place is farmed by people, the less chance of a drop for you.

Mmm. Ecto drops vary.. On two runs my friend got 6 ecto, everyone else zip.. Except for me running to a chest getting a useless gold..

I like to call what u call the Ecto God, for just plain and simple The Drop Gods, sometimes they smile upon u, but often they don't...

Yes drops have been slooow recently (10 smite runs and nothing, wtf?!) but then a bunch come at once... meh. Got 4 in 1 run soloing awhile ago, so it's still just random factors.

I didn't had 1 Ecto in 10 UW Trapping Trips in 3 days.
I had 3 times hat I was the only one in the team with out a Ecto.

So I wasted my time out there...I only need 5 Ecto's to get some FoW boots =.=

Ok, poke me with the "noob" stick here, but has anyone got any definitive evidence on drops being region-based and total players killing in an area based? It doesn't seem to me to be based this way at all

My counterpoint: back in the pre-AoE nerf days, when Griffin farming was very VERY popular, I saw no decrease in the quality of my own drops (and people, bots, and sweat shop workers were farming the ever loving crap out of that area)

I've never bothered to do any research on the subject other than my own experience, so if anyone has any info: please enlighten me
