Merged: Factions Pre-Order Comments & Questions

ok ok I have read many places that if you pre order factions you get an access key to a beta that only pre orderers get along with a friends key to beta and other random stuff... This will happen feb 28 when pre order box comes out

And the even in march is a totaly diffrent thing for everyone in gw..

Not true.

The current players of GW (means you already have Guild Wars: The Prophecy aka Guild Wars aka Guild Wars Chapter 1), then you will not need to pre-order to play in the event on march.

If you currently do not have a real Guild Wars, you will need to pre-order to get the access key for the beta in march.

no im saying i have gw 1 but i pre ordered 2.. i read in an info place that pre orders get key into a beta and not the march even for everyone with gw 1

I'm not sure what is going in, my local EB Games has no listing for a pre-order box or a factions CE. Could it be that the preorder is a given or do I need to go to another game store?

na you can pre order it jsut you dont get the pre order box untill feb 28

did you happen to notice that the beta event is the march 24 event?

and that if you already own GW you get into it without a preorder?

new pre-order items: unknown except that they will be for ritualists and assassins

when they arrive: on the day that factions is released, PROVIDED you have a preorder key and didn't just give EB, etc your money to get on a preorder list. You need to have the actual preorder package that hits stores next week. Once the key is entered and factions is released, new characters will automagically get the item(s) or for an old character you can type /preorder while in town/outpost to get the items

pre-modded items: no clue

What the new pre-order items are going to be?
Well from what has been released in the press release about this it seems there will be one item for each of the two new professions.

Also, on a note - will there be any pre-modded items like the HOD sword and the axe with +25 HP?

Be worthwhile to get the pre-order kit added to you account, then create a new character for the PvE March 28th event and see if they show up / been turned on yet.

Are pre-order keys available on PlayNc? or would it be easier to just go to the local gamestore?

Game store.

I'm not saying they'll do this with Factions, but with the GW release, they let pre-orders on a day and a half before regular people, and even let preorders play for a bit after the game released. So with the preorder kit from the store, you'd be able to play for a few days without getting your preorder kit...if you couldn't get to the store or something.

I would assume that they'll do this again.

Gunna already Pre-order Chapter 2 this weekend so lets see.

I also wonder if there will be different pre-order items depending on which store you get the pre-order box from, as they did with Prophcies (CompUSA, Best Buy, EB Games, Gamestop, General Retail, & European)? This absolute lack of any substantial information is really putting me off of ever upgrading past the first game.

Like many of you, I'm very excited about Factions, and want to get in on the pre-order goodness. However, I've never pre-orderred a game before, so am hoping someone can explain how it works. Btw, I think the only game store around is an EB. So, since the pre-order comes out the 28th, does that mean:

1. As of the 28th, we can order it online and it will be in the mail shortly
2. As of the 28th, we can order it online and it will be at store for pickup in ____ days or weeks
3. As of the 28th, we can order online and it will ship to us in a few days or weeks
4. On the 28th, we can go to our local store and purchase it
5. On the 28th, we can go to our local store and order it, to be picked up later
6. On the 28th, we can go to our local store and order it to be deliverred later to our address

So basically, can you order it online? When can you actually get it? And how do you acutally get it (mail or at store)? Oh, and also, if you can actually get it this week, can you install it onto your current account already? I know you won't actually be able to use the content, but can you prime it and have it raring to go (say for saving the name of your character from the preview event to release)?
