almost a week now I have been trying to beat my mirror so I can continue on but noooo I can't. i've tried switching around spells but that doesn't work. i've trying to go in without spells but that doesn't work either since he uses somekind of lighting on me. I just threw my cell phone againest the wall out of anger cause of this game. I don't get it i've never been pissed off over a game like this.

what class are you? i had lots of trouble with my mo/me then once i figured it out it was very easy

Hmm.. I would sit here and laugh my head off but I don't think I will. What can I say? You just need to find the niche. There's a strategy for whatever job you play. You have the advantage just like everyone having a sub job. If you select your skills properly then, there should be a way to beating the mirror. Instead of having to really figure out strategy for 6 jobs, knowing strategy for 3 should do it, considering you're going to be two out of the 6 if you get what I'm saying. Since you said lightening I'm going to assume you're an elementalist of some sort.

Im a warrior/mesmer and you know what I did against the mirror fellow? 7/8 of m spells would kill him or destroy him slowly while I had my secret weapon spell to destroy him. First try I defeated him because "Mirror Self", I mean come on, who wouldnt know what your up for with THAT name???

Don't stress over it so much.

Like what Twilight had said, just figure out some sort of stradegy. Don't gotta go all crazy and demolish your belongings over a game. Self-control and confidence.

You'll beat the mirror in time. =)

I'm an Elementalist Monk, and beat him using only elementalist skills, specifically fire.

Step 1, immediately cast Aura of Restoration to recoup health.
Step 2, Meteor Shower. This will do significant damage and also keep knocking him on his ass.
Step 3, race in and hit him with every fire spell you've got starting with Flame Burst (fast and expensive, which is good for health regen), Inferno (fast), and pheonix (very powerful).

It worked for me on my first try, but your mileage may vary.

I play a w/mo and I think it may have took 30 seconds tops to beat my mirror. After reading this thread it's kinda of depressing to know other professions are having a "challenge" winning. I wish it would have taken a little skill/strategy rather than run in and slash/gash....Good Luck!

How can you not have them as a primary Ele? Did you not do your skill quests in pre-searing? Aura of Restoration is given to you in your first Ele quest in pre-searing.

At any rate, if you do not have these skills, then go find a skill trainer and buy them (or go back and find the quests you have not done and do them). GuildWars Guru has a page listing the skill trainers and which skills they sell.

there are skills that the clone doesn't use like healing breeze, pacifism, watch yoursself!, etc. Don't load so many skills. I beat a my clone as a Mo/W on the first try even though everyone said it was the hardest. I actually heard most elems beat it like 20 seconds on th first try

Im a W/Mo and after 3 times i took of my healing and put on full warrior skills. The battle was over in under 20 seconds. I used everyting and ended up dieing right before he did from bleeding. I still won

You surely cannot be serious that you dont have those skills. you must have got them at some point, and all you need to do is pRess K and you can swap them in and out of your skill bar, remember you can only do this inside towns and outposts.

I beat my mirror on my third try and I was enjoying trying the different strategies until I found the right one..... And oh ya, that "some kind of lightning" is a spell you have equipped, so try unequipping it.

A little advice cause I dont want to be all negative: Equip mostly useless skills and put a buff on yourself before entering. Skip the cinematic and attack. Dont know what else to say....

Beating your mirror comes down to only one thing, "You have to outsmart yourself."

If you can't do that, then yah sell it on ebay like the guy a couple replies up said.

I was a E/W too.

I used meteor to start it off

then fire storm

then fireball

then whatever i could to finish him off.

You also need to avoid his fir storm spell.

you only broke your phone, I threw the monitor out of my apartment window...infact I projected it in an downward direction so fast, it incinerated before it hit the ground.
