NEWS FLASH! Monks on strike at Thunderhead Keep

My favorite class is a necro and I refuse to degrade one into being a energy cell, and I prefer to let people play with whatever they have the most experience. After all a good monk really can save even the agro happy players, but it might take a lot of coaching.

If you're letting silly wars burn through your energy, you're not playing an effective, efficient monk. And THAT is the truth.

Also, a ranger strike is the silliest thing I've ever heard of. Besides a monk strike. I'm so glad I have enough guildmates and friends to the point where a pickup group never has to be an option. Plus, it's not that hard to do the game with hench if you know how to play.

I don't like telling others whwat to be while playing either. But in the end monks are complainin from lack of respect and lil regen energy they get.

I love necro, i love battery and i like helping out ppl. If someone ask me to get my necro i will gladly do it. But i've been told many time to do Minion master or ss necro to enter a group. A good monk, if they can save themselv from agro, why are they striking? or is it just the bad monk striking?

I'm not on stike, and I never mentioned a specific class, and I've henched THK and Hell Precipice, so I could care less... no more comments for me.

This strike is giving all the other monks a bad name. If you have to srike to get respect then you must be one hell of a bad monk. I've given respect to those who were great guess they didn't bother with that lol

Well that is a little disappointing. While it is true that many times I feel like I'm working for someone in the group rather than with them I do not think striking is worth it. I usually go through FoW with PUG's as a healing monk because it is really easy to get picked up and be in. I usually say "Healing Monk LFG FoW" and will have three or four people asking for my help. I am by no means a great monk though I can keep my party alive for most of the fights unless something goes horribly wrong.

My only problems playing with a monk:
- Lack of respect from most players. I'm sure many classes feel this way as well and I do show pity for the Rangers of the world who are always left out.
- If all else fails the monks are usually blamed for incompetent healing. It doesn't happen all the time but it does seem to happen often enough to warrant attention.

Really this doesn't have to do with being a monk so much as playing with a large group of ungrateful and ignorant players. I wouldn't mind playing with a more open minded and friendly guild but I've never had one.

This a game man. We are having fun. It's what games are for. If having fun gives me a bad name then I am all for it.

i'm currently practising my monking in the ring of fire missions, and the amount of times a war/mo will A) use frenzy at a mind shock/chain lightning ether seal then B) use healing sig whilst frenzy is STILL IN EFFECT is....too many. Needless to say they die completely even with WoH and Heal other aimed at them.



PS, i've clocked 1200 hours using warrior primary...

you are having fun... a game is about having fun... hmm i did notice how u can't get a full balance group working since some monks are well wasting everyone else's time.. if you want everyone else to use henchmen, hell im all for it.... Good luck finding a group as monks will be totally useless

When i play my monk and see the other monk demanding a battery, i get a very bad feeling. Most of those monks tend to spam heal other & heal party. Wells, wards and hex removing mesmers are much better to help the group.
My SS necro nearly got kicked by a monk, because i didn't want to bring BiP. Brainless people are in every profession..

lol i know ur right... when i see a monk askin for battery necro, that's when i usually kick them out. The best monk i've seen use Offering of blood now. But i'm gonan rely on henchmen now, seems like a better option then having to give respect to a bad monk.

I actually tried to bring a pug through thk an hour ago. A Pug with 2wars, 1mesmer, 2rangers, 1 ele and us 2 monks. The other monk grabbed the king and rushed into the aggro, wrote 'u lusers stink' and left. Sabotaging others is fun?

This is a time when you dont get any random monk in your group. rely on henchmen and on friends. They want our respect and will do whatever it takes to show us how could of teamplayers they have.

You know most of the monks that I pug with are decent to good, and i do give props for good healing but the bad and decent ones can be replaced with lina, alesia, or mehlo. I'd rather take my chances with the henchies cause i know what I am going to get...plus i don't have to worry about aggro monkies complaining about not getting healed fast enough. As for the batteries it is nice to have one for a monk in difficult battles where they have to spam heals. Ele's definately don't need them cause they got dual attunements anyways...if an ele needs one then they are playing the game wrong.

Lol... it seems that there was an equal amount of monks and other professions.

I wonder if any had the courage to spam the main channel with "lvl 7 frezny wa/e lfg 7 monks for miss/bonus"
