I have to say being on strike is the most fun I have ever had in this game. It's like a grand event and it's completely grass roots.
If you are upset over the strike that is your loss. As many people have said, you can use henchies. Also, it is possible to play without monks. Period. If you can figure that one out then I will monk for you any day.

that is exactly what I do. Usually after that wammo/necro tank notices he is getting no heals he starts saying "I am following Mylo Aires" (my monk) and if he is real nice and doesn't take too much aggro, I will put him back on my 'ok to heal list.'
(I used the male pronoun because it seems that the males toons are worse at this...don't know why)

What I don't get:
You guys are upset about people agroing the whole map, but what do you think of other professions?
Do you think we like it when a noob agroes the whole map and the team dies? Do you think we like it when we are nearly done with a mission/quest/farm-run, to die and have to restart?

j/k My point was that players who burn through a monks energy by playing stupidly will pull the rest of the group down if they are allowed to continue. For this reason they get the chance to straighten up or kiss the dirt. If your new, don't worry. Most monks are good at giving commands.

You know what would also be nice, monk who'd stop bitching all the time, warrior who'd stop running, players who'd stop afking, no more rage quitters. Yes alot of things would be nice. Maybe we should strike about everything to make this game better. Good idea! Let's all strike and remind why this game is soooo much better then any other games out there!

Respect.
Nobody gets it cause nobody gives it.
I went to UW last night. Paid for the group. Had to, cause I'm the ranger. Trapper, BTW. Full WS and high expertise, can solo trap enough to lay waste to a group of Aatxes. But I'm not a solo player, I enjoy camaraderie in group and besides, I need backup (rangers, the do anything class, do need help sometimes) so I was carrying other people. I ended up getting through 4 groups of mobs because our warriors were drawing ALL the aatxes to the traps meant for one group.
The nuker refused to nuke, the mesmer tripped over their skill bar (backfiring an aatxe?) and the poor poor monk was stuck with trying to manage all that.
But, NOBODY listened to the directions I was calling, EVERYONE ran in eight different directions, and without my spike build I couldn't drop them fast enough for us to survive.
If people (monks, rangers, whatever) want respect, they have to earn it. I wanted to throw rocks at everyone in that group.
Besides, you want an underappreciated group, take rangers. We can replace wa/mos any day (yes, I can out-dps a hammer warrior.), know all about energy conservation and aggro control, can interrupt, spike, trap, prevent resurrection (can a monk do that?), pull, call and generally be a team unto ourselves (seen it with 8 man trapper teams). Yet we're called ineffective and stupid because a few of us wanna be rambo.
We have been consistently denied groups since the release, yet we still continue to play. Most of us don't even say anything about not being able to find a group, we call guildies/take henches cause we KNOW unless it's something special nobody wants us.
Maybe we should strike.

couldn't have said it better, and about the fact that 'we' don't go with groups unless guildies/other rangers is true, at least in my case.

1) Not getting too far away from him/her
2) Not aggroing the whole map
3) Stopping to rest when they run low on energy
Where you are then presented with a choice: you can either listen to the advice, follow it, and then be successful ... or ... you can be a jerk and say "STFU, NOOB, I CAN TAKE TEH WHOLE CHARR ARMEE AT ONCE!!!oneshiftone!!111!!" and then wonder why the monk stops healing you. The choice, for most people, is an easy one

As we play, you dwindle your time away spamming messages in an outpost.
Great Job.
