NEWS FLASH! Monks on strike at Thunderhead Keep

Who am I?
I was born in Ascalon 20 years before the charr invasion. I died at THK, and it was the monk's fault. Simple as that. I should have beeen getting priority healing and protection. When groups were aggroed, no matter how large the group is, I should have beeen able to tide the whole battle out at full health. The rest of the party should have beeen at full health too. When I was not at full health it meant that I was not getting the appropriate healing and protection which my very position deserves. I was good at what I do, but I died all the same. The last player standing in the battle did not have res.
Who am I?

Well I can tell you why I am so vocal about it. I'm not the type of person to let people get away with such blatant stupidity without calling them on it. Call it misguided hope, but I can only pray that they will read my words and say." Oh wow we really were being jackasses. Let's learn from this." While I am aware that this probably isn't going to happen it's certainly not going to stop me from calling them out on it. As for monks dealing damage allow me to say that Smite damage, and yes I've done a smiter so I know, is only really good against undead and demonic enemies. Against other types well I'd rather take my chances with a pointy stick than rely on smite damage. No wait let me clarify. Not a pointy stick but a Q tip with enough waxy residue to make one end kinda hard. To compare the damage that a pointy stick could cause to smite damage against anything other than the aforementioned enemy types is an insult to pointy sticks everywhere.

monks have it easy getting into groups, but a reliable, patient group, one that co-operates and listens to each other, now thats hard to find. even in guildie groups

As others have said, that completely goes against the whole idea of the game being about cooperative skill. Hey, if you're a great solo player, that's not a bad thing! This just might not be the right enviornment to do it in, however.

I'm a solo Warrior now(thanks to Racoth =)) with over 1500 hours under my belt, I think I know what I'm doing.. btw monks don't have anything to complain about, Mesmers are the most un-tapped class..

you think ppl will listen to a handful of voices? your wrong, everyone should just get over this strike. 20 monks wont listen to you..or 100 ppl with your point of view. its really a waste of time, it all is. smite is great. yeah, against demons and undeads, i didnt say it was perfect did i? just saying its powerful. against lvl 28s where a smite attack still does 56 damage vs an axe blow 38 dmg (EXAMPLE!!!!) i like smite =P

Just forget this whole thing. was a joke that went too far. aye, i was part of it..was fun..till ppl took it personally and started abusing the monks, now its just a name calling war..pretty silly really.

Then all the Warriors, Rangers, Nerco would get groups. Then we won't need monks or elementists anymore.

well I know I am not showing up there with my monk.

light..i got a solo monk and warrior 2k hours...dont really prove much, i know what im doing, plus! i wasnt even mentioning mesmers..
i do like playing as mesmer..its fun.
like i said, its hard to find a reliable, co-opereative group for all classes..but if it fails, its usually the monks fault! *rolls eyes* and guardian, a monk team can handle itself =P not causing an argument..im just saying.

I'm just saying that all classes should be treated the same...not one class it "better" then the rest..and no I'm not a stereo type at monks..

The protest should have been in the International district so us Euro's can join in on the fun
