Well what if people want to tell something more about their charrecters? There's nothing bad about it. Everyone who play Guild Wars a lot like their charrecters and I bet everyone thinks that their charrecters are the best in the whole game. So why not to show off a bit? It can't be so annoying if one tells how much really enjoys playing the game.
And if it is very annoying, noone is going to force you to read the threads. Or you can hide the picture with your hand.

Well getting your charrecter to lvl 20, ascended etc. are goals your charrecter has reached. Pretty much the same as getting Obsidian armor, perfect weapons or capturing all elite skills.
When Factions came out we even got those titles to show off what goals our charrecters have reached.
And there isn't right or wrong way to show off your charrecters? Some people just want to show what their chars look like and some people want to tell some more. Someone wants to tell even the smallest goals (like getting to lvl 20) and someone just wants to show the most important stuff.
This will be my last post about this subject cause the thread is mostly for the pictures.
