New ranger weapons mods?

I was taking a look at the bowstrings and bowgrips available for rangers, and it really irks me that there are mods which are secondary-class specific. You can really only use a firy/shocking/icy/ebon bowstring if you have "conjur X element' on your skillbar - pretty much limiting those mods to E/Rs or R/Es, in my view.

Wouldn't it be neat if there were also bowstrings that dealt holy/light damage, as well as the elemental ones?

One problem, Holy(Smite) ignores armor.. it'd be over powered.

Whats the point of that? There are a lot of uses for those, like for against warriors. It ignores the 20 against physical. It has a ton of uses...You should play more.

Ya, holy=omnipowerful. Just take an ebon string and all physical resistance is covered. Not to mention i don't see too many eles in geo, and there's no ranger armour that has +15 vs earth. Can't be used with a conjure though...

Reason they added Judge's insight is because holy rocks. Can you imagine takin one of them to kryta? Double damage vs about half the enemies there...

Holy damage resulting from Judge's Insight doesn't ignore armor though. It's treated as light damage. It still packs a punch against undead though.

Holy damage doesn't completely ignore armor, but it does ignore any bonus armor, such as +20 vs physical, only the base level is considered.

not quite armor itself, but rather all bonuses vs. elements and bonus vs. that Necro armor, whatever its called.
I wanted to suggest this before, but I knew it would be way overpowered, maybe if Ch2 Brings armors that protect vs Holy, Dark, and Chaos, then I could see the implementation of the Holy modifier.

Imagine Bow if there were different Bow Strings that increased Range, Refire Rate and/or Flight Time?

Holy doesn't ignore armor any more than Lightning does(meaning not at all). It's just that it ain't physical, meaning +99 vs physical has no effect on it. Smiting spells may ignore armor, but that's not the same thing. See also lifestealing attacks.

Interrupting bow string

Not like every so so and his dog doesn't have an interrupt ranger with 20 interrupts up his ass already, why not make it so EVERY ranger can do it!

Oh wow, my interrupt ranger interrupted yours! I must be the best interruptor!
Oh noes! I was backshot and interrupted... wow getting interrupted really sucks, I'm gonna go cry now cuz I'm a 13-year-old brat stuck in angry adolescence and only when things go my way do I have fun.
Wah wah
Hah! Interrupted you!

I think you can tell my opinion of interruptors from that post... and don't get me wrong, half of the rangers in comp arenas are interruptors, and 90% of them do that exact same thing.

We need a 'ban asshole' function

EDIT: By the way, I have done the interrupt ranger thing, I hated it. I respect the build still, but not most of the assholes who run it (in fact, none of the assholes that run it, but the skilled ones who do I must respect).

Actually you are wrong there. Only holy damage from skills that use hoply damage Aka the smite line Ingore armor. A bow string would not ignore armor.

That's because the weapon damage is "light Damage" not, "Holy Damage". they are different.

How about a death chance bowstring?

Actually they are the same as people said before. Just like Lightning spells tend to have 25% armor penetration and Earth spells tend to ignore armor, Holy/Light spells tend to ignore armor as well. However adding the prefix would make it do the damage that ignores armor bonuses (+20 vs. physical, +15 vs. elemental, etc.) and since currently there is no armor that has the slightest protection vs. Holy/Light, it would be overpowered, basically you equip the string and hit base armor levels everytime.
