The Basic idea of this build is to stand back and let everyone else get aggro then drop three nukes by using Echo/Arc Echo then Met Shower then the remaining "Echo" then use the "Echoed" Meteor Shower then use the final shower, if you time this effectively you can get these three nukes off in 19 seconds MUCH faster than a renewal nuker. I also combine thise to use my Fire Repeater strat to get rid of exhaustion quickly, I do the same sequence but with Fireball instead of Met Shower.

I have used this build in Oro Farming and pretty much everywhere else it is highly useful.

Pros: KD ALOT, MAD Damage, and when using fire repeater exhaustion problems are nil and energy management is not too bad(hence the high En Storage Rating)

Cons: Interrupts HURT, energy sappers aren't fun, and this buld isnt easy to use with how much you have to watch your back.

Well wanted to submit my favorite build hope ya like it fell free to discuss.

lol Renewal is alright..but it doesnt give out as amany meteor showers in one quick burst. Sure with Glyph you can get out four meteor showers per minute but it isnt as fast as 3 showers in 19 glyph is better suited for long fights while my Triple nuke is suited for a quick win. GLyph is for four showers in a min this build is for a quick burst of showers

Have you ever tried incorporating glyph of sacrifice? I've never tried using glyph of sacrifice on an 'echoed' spell.

Bah! Down with the Nukers

But not a horrible thinking here. Very basic but helps people who want to be a TNuker *cries* and the like.

Any thought to switching to Me/E and running this? Fast casting would help with the interrupts, along with spells like Mantra of Concentration instead of Fire Attunement.

May cause some serious energy management issues, however, since casting these spells will likely sap your energy pool much quicker than having the extra energy storage.

how about using arcane echo on gylph of renewal. works better imo.
on problem is it doesnt work with gylph of sacrifice.

the time would be:
arcane echo - 2sec
gylph of renewal - 1sec
meteor shower - 5sec
gylph of renewal - 1sec
meteor shower - 5sec
meteor shower - 5sec

= total 19 sec.

however arcane echo/echo will be even faster if u use gylph of sacrifice.

hmm ill try the sacrifice build...and the thing with me saying this is my build is that i've seen noone else use it and I'm pretty sure ppl started using after I advertised it.... well this is just my bigheaded conception....also don't make fun of nukers, they are highly useful everywhere and it is because of ppl condescending on our kind and (post AoE nerf, which BTW doesnt affect me at ALL) saying we are useless that noone has thought of any good nuker builds especially after that danged "Go Die Pet"(iway) revolution

This tri nuke concept has been around forever. It doesn't take brain surgery to think the 2 "echo's" + a big damage AOE like meteor isn't something worth trying.

Echo nuking has been around forever :/

Hell, it's the primary reason why I take mesmer as a secondary on Ele's. That and all the other goodies mesmer has.

Inspiration is a FANTASTIC line for Elementalists to abuse.

Oh and another quick note, people who think nukers are obsolete are absolute morons.

I don't comprehend how someone does not see the usefulness of doing high damage.... IN AN AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, AOE may be "nerfed" but only the AOE that requires mobs to be stupid and stand inside a damage over time area. There are ways to get around this quite easily and all it requires is one other person with any sort of ability to lower movement speed in an AREA or Knockdown in an AREA.

Personally I have grown to love the AOE "nerf" as it actually BUFFED my defense in the strangest way.

When I get multiple melee mobs suddenly charging me I queue up Lava font and watch as they all run into it, take 2 to 3 ticks of damage and flee.

After they flee they typically do not return to me, if they do head back and Lava Font again.

The AI is easily workable, and I actually like it. It's a sort of defense for Fire Ele's from melee that they did not have before in the fire line. I don't see how this isn't valuable. You can do bunch up your teams "squishies" and keep melee off them with lava font on TOP of any other defense from melee that is present in your party make up.

Now, for occassions where you want the mobs to take more damage from Firestorm/Lava Font/Searing heat, you are going to need a devoted snarer + KD'er to get full benefit from those spells.

When I think new AoE DoT AI I think Firestorm/Lava Font/Eruption/Meteor Swarm/Whirlwind/Earthquake/Deep Freeze/Frozen Burst/Ice Spikes/Traps.

A combo of most of those things is absolutely disgusting. People just got used to the fire and forget AOE DoT style of firestorm. It had way too many Ele's using that and basically stacking AOE DoT's on top of instants. All with zero point to having anyone performing "utility debuffing".

I think that kind of nerf was beneficial to teaming.

but that's just me.

OK. I want to ask this somewhere.

1. Does doing any additional fire damage during Meteor Showers trigger a desire to run away?

2. How long to enemies stay knocked down for? Would overlapping Meteor Showers keep them from running away?

1. No it doesn't, they will run after the second knowckdown regarless.
2. Not sure how long the knockdown is, maybe 1 sec? Overlapping on the exact sam area will not keep them from running. You can cast the initial MS, keep the same target then cast again on it which will cast on the retreat point. 2 should be enough, 3 IMO is way to much overkill and a waste of energy and the exhaustion is far to much. Slows the group down to much waiting for you to recharge and work exhaustion off after a few rounds. I normally use only 2 with glymph of renewal instead of echo. I do this after a wammo aggros, glymph of renewal, meteor shower, fireball before they all run, meteor shower, incindiary bonds. works very well IMO. There may be better max damage combos out there but for me this works very well.

pegasus you have a point about only needing two nukes... I pack the three nukes tho because I have bad luck with groups and generally find ppl who cant hold aggro so I just bring three nukes and spread them all around the area and considering my MS does 119 dmg every 3 secs even the most powerful of enemy warriors will be crippled and also I work off the exhaustion by switching to repeaqted fireballs..... You can also apply this very effectively with Obisidian Flame. If you can take the exhaustion hit, you can lay out a very steady stream of 118 point nukes (16 Earth). Single-target of course, but sometimes the situation calls less for AE and more for spiking.

To my knowledge they stay knocked down for a second, and generally attempt to scatter afterwards. The more meteors dropping of course means the better chance you have in hitting them again and keeping them there.

I may try that Spamming Obsidian Flame sometime..... if I ever go earth, thing is is that I would need a fast non-exhausting spell to repeat in order to kill exhaust this is why I use fireball with my echoes because I can get rid of all of my exhaust once the echoes run out..

When I'm running Obsidian Flame as my primary method of attack, I usually couple it with either Glyph of Energy or Glyph of Elemental Power (that is, both on the bar):

Cast 1 - GoE Ob Flame
Cast 2 - GoEP Ob Flame
Cast 3 - depends on which Glyph is up (due to fast recharge, etc.)

At least every third, if not every other Ob Flame does not cause exhaustion. Each Ob Flame is hitting for 118 or 130 damage (full AP), depending on whether it is cast at 16 or 18 Earth. Cast 1 and Cast 2 cost a total of 15 energy (five per glyph, five for the second Ob Flame). With an energy pool of 90 I can keep this up and still maintain two-three Wards without much difficulty. All it requires is a little finesse in regards to target selection.
