Petition :: UW vs. "new" UW

I propose to clear up confusion... (and read this knowing that tongue is firmly planted in cheek)

that the Underworld (accessible when we have favor and for a fee) continue to be called Underworld in the forums.

The "new" UW *cringe* be called Tombs. *duh*

It's not REALLY the UW... the first map happens to be the PvP UW-like map!!

it's annoying yeah... but overtime players will get used to calling the "old" UW = Underworld and the "new" UW = ToPK... and for that matter... the "old" ToPK = HA

I've heard people calling Tombs (new UW) "the black hole"

when chatting with my guildmates, I refer to them as UW1 and UW2 (UW2 being the new PvE tombs).

Same here, and it's what I call it because it's cool.

I always refer to them as UW, Tombs and HA

Tombs is the word I use to describe the new PvE area. I absolutely H A T E the term "new UW." If one thing in the game makes the term "n00b" pop into my head, it is the phrase "new UW."

To preface what i'm about to say, I would like to point out that it is a big pet peeve of mine too to hear it called "The New Underworld" ... however i'm going to play devil's advocate here for a second

I think there are several reasons why people refer to it as such:
1) Most obvious, the first map you enter is called "The Underworld"
2) There are critters that mess up 55 monks with rend enchantments
3) Ectos drop there
4) It does have an underworld-ish "feel" to it with the smite-colored ghostly riders, and demons and such ...

That being said: yes it's still stupid it's called "The New Underworld", but not totally off-base.

I say (as some other posters have) we call the Underworld "The Underworld" or "UW", Tombs "Tombs", and "The New Tombs" (also annoying to hear) "Hero's Audience" or "HA"

EDIT: Whoops, need another cup of coffee. Heroes' Ascent it is. Give me a break, i'm at work.

If we do a petition on that then we should have a petition where we call armor its original dev placed name:
droks armor=Tyrian armor, 15k armor= Ascended sets, FoW= Obsidian sets

I myself find it annoying to call "Heroes' Ascent" by the strange name of "Hero's Audience" (hero's is singular for 1...and this is a team map)

You do know that Droknars Forge is officially located after ascenscion, right?

So, if you play the game as it was designed/developed then Droknars is Ascended armor.

Mainly UW is called UW...(sometimes old UW). Tombs one is called new UW.

Pardon me, but you missed the point...

it's NOT the "new" UW.

Maybe we should just drop the names and use acronyms:

Underworld = UW
New Underworold = NUW

Personally, I think 'Black Hole' is a good name, since the entrance is a pretty cool portal.

Can we change the petition for calling the 4 stage green run, 'Black Hole'? ^_^

only if the map travel marker changes from ToPK to "Black Hole"... although I admit that kinda rules considering how cool the portal is.

Actually, you're wrong. He was referring to what the Developers call the armor in update notes. The 1.5 is referred to as Tyrian, the 15k as Ascended, and the FoW is called Obsidian Armor whenever they update the graphics for them.

Re-edited. Thanks for keeping me straight, Mandy (and yes I can tell the difference between singular-possessives and plural-possessives ... also I just looked and Heroes' Audience is also plural-possessive, even though it's a PvE non-team map)
