I think the Charr stole Gwen

I started a new character recently and fully explored Pre-Searing, did every quest, saw every scenic or interesting spot I have ever read about. I have some awesome screenshots!

Right at the end of Pre, when I was fighting the Charr boss in the cave I had a flash of insight: The Charr Stole Gwen!

Here's my reasoning:

We know the Charr made multiple incursions into Ascalon. We have to destroy one party of Charr, and as the story progresses we find evidence that (at least) another party has crossed the Wall.

The second party(s) presumably entered the Catacombs through the entrance near the Baradin Estate, because it's closest to the Wall. We track this party through the Catacombs and eventually confront them in a cave beyond the Ascalon Academy.

During this confrontation, Rurik says that the Charr have found a tunnel leading from the Catacombs to the cave (an apparent fourth entrance to the Cats that we never find)

So we kill Bamboozle Shiznit (or whatever his name is) and the Searing Cinematic begins. And whats the first thing we see?

Gwen.

It's the last time we see her.

Then in Post, we find the Catacombs and the Baradin Estate closed off entirely. We know the Charr are still sending raiding parties across the wall. And we find out that the Charr have kidnaped (and burned alive) Althea the Mesmer. (Rurik's fiance and Duke Baradin's daughter)

I think Gwen was kidnapped by the Charr and sacrificed. But her soul can't find rest. Perhaps the Charr are using her soul somehow.

I suppose Gwen could be trapped in the Catacombs.

Anyhow, It's just speculation. Did I miss anything?

I don't accept a world without Gwen casting fire storm on everything in sight.

Best theory I've heard yet, except we can find 'clues' of Gwen in Kryta where there have been no Charr as far as I can tell. I'm sure someone can come up with a theory on that one.

If Gwen was dead her ghost would be with her parents in the Underworld.

I think that if Gwen is still alive, we can expect her to grow up abit after the searing, no?

Well, this is only one what I think. That Gwen is a 'Wandering Spirit', that she is dead and she is still wandering everywhere. Because I saw an item called 'Gwen's broken flute' close to where the pig pen was, and because Gwen loves the flute, she wouldn't just lose it. And what would the Charr do with a little girl like Gwen? But that is what I think....

A follow up theory on this. The Charr kidnapped Gwen and gave her to the Lich/Vizier. The Lich then traveled to Sanctum Kay with Gwen. That would explain her cape out there.

No, because Althea was dead and unable to pass over to the Underworld until you rescue her ashes.

The Charr/Lich could have killed Gwen and are using her soul for some dark reason (think Bloodstones)

If you search extensively through out the world of Guild Wars, Post searing..

You find many Gwen related items, a ripped girls cape, the broken floot, a tattered flower.

Gwen was taken by the Charr, yes. But they didn't sacrifice her, they were awed by her command of fire, and gav her to their masters, the Mursaat. The Mursaat realize she's a budding mage of incredible power, and raises her as one of their own. As the unleashed Titans destroy the Mursaat, the last few Mursaat flee through Kryta to the uncharted wastes west of the Maguuma, and Gwen, now their leader, vows revenge...

Oh man. It's gonna be like quest for glory 1 where it turns out the little girl grows up to be the big bad boss of the bad guys. Gwen... leader of the Charr. I can almost imagine that encounter now...

Me: Gwen it's me! Don't you remember?
Gwen: I do not foul pink thing *growl*. In the name of the fire gods, prepare to burn!
Me: Gwen we met in Ascalon don't you remember? You're not a charr you're human!!
Gwen: You *woof* LIE!
Me: I do not! See this is your flute. Sure it's broken now but I gave this to you remember?
Gwen: *grrrr* Stick looks familiar.... toot toot?
Me: Yes yes. How about this tapestry. You gave this to me in return.
Gwen: *sniff* *sniff* Smells like.... my favorite thing in the whole world.....
Me: And this torn cape. I gave this to you as well.
Gwen: Blankie?
Me: I gave you a ton of flowers. You loved those flowers.
Gwen: Yes..... nice flowers..... tasted good.... but also remember thorns hurt mouth and tongue.... lots of bleedi.....
Me: Uhh yeah, yeah right. We even adventured together. Remember my pet moa bird? He took a liking to you. He doesn't like anybody. He still remembers you now see?
Gwen: Awwww Dirty Pecker I DO remember you *hop* *bounce* *hugs bird*
Gwen: You are right you are friend. Gibme hugs n kisses!
Me: There there gwen everything will be alright. Let's go home.
Gwen: Psych!....... I burn you good! *firestorm*
Me and Dirty Pecker: *Runs out of firestorm*
Gwen: What the ****??? No fair! Who nerfed AOE?????

I have only found the broken flute... hmmmm...

I really like this theory though. It is a very good one.

After Gwen's broken flute, I kind of lost interest. Thought it was some stray quest item that they forget to write a quest for.

This is taking on Chuck Norris like proportions.

Gwen is far from dead, in a village known as still alive! You will see, you will all see.

One day she will come back to cause more terror, and I will be the only one she invites into her party.

However good theory, sounds possible.

On the topic of Gwen, I think she's still alive and has some purpose to serve in the game later on. I've had this theory that Gwen didn't die and in fact fled (somehow) to the area around LA and the like. Perhaps she traveled to Fisherman's Haven (or got run there by some Wammo) and took a boat... to Cantha. There, she vowed to learn the dark secrets of the assassin. Or something along those lines. I first thought of this when I read the story of the assassin in the first info release on Chapter 2.

I think she's still kickin' around and I can't wait to see her again. (She just better not take back the flute, cape, and tapestry- what else would I use to split up my inventory?)

I haven't seen a tattered flower... I think you get the cape outside Fisherman's Haven. If not there, then outside Gates of Kryta.

Tattered Cape is Old Ascalon Region.

Broken Flute (not floot) is north of the Fisherman village (above Santum Cay) and it sometimes shows up.

(I may of got the location of the Tattered Cape / and Flute flipped)

I've not seen or heard of the flowers existence. I can provide screen shots of the ripped cape and the broken flute.

Could someone provide screen shot of the flower and the location. Reason being there is are so many myths that people believe about Gwen it taken a life of it's own.

Yeah you got the two mixed up. I know you get the flute in Old Ascalon outside of Sardelac Sanitarium.
