The Guild Wars community of my school

After reading this thread, I think many of you should pay a little more attention in school. Specifically to things like spelling, grammar and punctuation.

My school stinks, everyone plays WoW... and all the teachers play Halo 2, none however like GW.

Well, gotta wait to PvE beta weekend to slip them some test keys so they can really try out the game ^^

I live in a town where there are like 5000 people. Most of the people on my age(15-20)((I'm17)) plays WoW or Counter Strike. We are like 5 people who plays GW, 3 of us are in the same guild. Howerver only 2 of us are good at GW, the other 3 are just plain newbs and doesn't undetstand the game.

If it's only a gaming forum, why so defensive?

My point is still valid in any forum.

WOOT transport tycoon FTW!!! I used to play that...seriously, it actually have the cd lying around somewhere...quite interesting, but if anything, a huge pain in the proverbial arse.

transport tycoon? never heard of that one, but i was cracked out on roller coaster tycoon for like 2 months... and diablo 2 for 3 years

http://www.openttd.org/ is an open source and greatly updated version of TT, the one we play. Features full internet play, HUGE maps, improved signals, pathing and tons of other yummy updates. Need to have TTDX for Windows to start with, tho that can be acquired.. in less legal ways.

Memories of school...we tunneled our way through the network and got Descent installed on many a computer...we played matches during lunch...now it's all work and no play...I want to be back in school...

Nobody in my college plays GW as far as I'm aware, except me of course.

And my college has like 2000 students.

I'm going to put a bulletin out around my college asking for GW players. Then I will be the uber cool gamer guy. Or the nerd. Either way.

i dont think anyone plays gw at my school, ive tried convincing my friends but they dont play games much.

This is a gaming forum, there not defensive, there just trying to tell you to shut the f*ck up because your a boring git while everyones trying to talk about something generally in there school.

Your 39 years old for f*ck sake...surely this is a gaming forum, maybe half of the people here are around 16 or so. Although there is a big majority that are adults.

Just chill, the people that are in school, don't want to use there grammar on the internet as well, give it a break.

If you wanna be all offensive about grammar, puncutation, etc, go be an English teacher. Just not on these Forums, okay?

Well...I have a few friends who play Guild Wars...like friends who are still friends otherwise but not much...my main friends actually play like Xbox games and stuff...they suck lol
Oh, and there's a bunch of geeky kids that play WoW together...geeky really isn't the right word, but one of them stays off school alot. I don't know if he bunks off to play or what. I don't really know those guys.
There's a large bunch of the more 'cool' lads who play CoD2...I'm thinking of getting it to play with them lol...
But I keep learning of more and more people I know that play online games. I used to think I was pretty alone in what I did but knowing that other people do it makes me feel better.

I'm a 39 year-old teacher, not English mind you, but I only have one pet peave in the grammar mis-use in this forum...the use of then instead of than...aside from that...We have several students at our school who play GW. I had two students in my guild, but lost them to DAoC....their parents (also teachers) play it. All-in-all...we have 14 players I know of...mostly good kids.

How about Josh's "there" instead of "they're"? Not to mention "puncutation"!
LMFAO! Seriously, if you can't make fun of kids in school who should be learning this stuff, who can you? Christ, us old farts are the ones that should be forgiven. I've forgotten more English than these guys know! ROFL.

The 3 of us who play Guild Wars in my school are all pretty good at what we do, but we tend not to venture into fields of PvP other than mediocre Heroes' Ascent. We haven't had a GvG battle... ever. But we are happy doing what we do.
