2. spam pre/post-searing ascalon city to recuit newbies

3. when there is a sizable number of members, spam "guild for sale" in general chat in Lion's Arch/Droknar's Forge.

This is generally looked down upon, since you are taking advantage of ppl

Yea, I've seen people trying to sell guilds with members and had to laugh. Why buy a guild when you can start one? If it's for the members, then you really have to question what members you will get from someone who sells off their guild along with it's members...

This sounds more like a waste of time than a way to make gold to me....

1. buying an existing guild.... its a nobrainer to name your own, I would think ppl would like their own name and tag/cape? are ppl really this desperate at this stage of the game?

Yeah the slave trade is stupid. People used to spam "Hidden Secrets for 10k" or something and retards would fish for em only to see the figures in front of them disappear into cyber space

Two things:
This is a sad way to make money. Poeple should feel ashamed to make gold this way.

Well, as one scammer said to my wife the other day when she asked why he tried to rip her off "because you're all so f***ing stupid"...her reply was "obviously not since I saw through your scam".

One thing that truly pisses me off is those 'smart' people who hang around in pre-searing trying to buy black dye's and other valuable items for 100gp, those jerks should be banned and I really mean it.

And also with the current Rank Discrimination going on, I have see player create R3+ only guild. (Guild with member only Rank 3 or higher)

And after they got about 20+ (R3 ~ R6) members, they will sell the guild for about 100k ~ 500k. (Price varies depending the Rank of member and number of member.)

As we know, I can’t public players name in this form, but if u want u can go to the New Tomb (Hero Ascent) Distract 1 and find who are they by yourself +).

I begin to notice this after few my guildie left our guild to join a Ranked Guild, but come back in about 2 or 3 days later because their new guild leader is R0…lol.

Rumor: I don’t know if this is true or not, there is group and Ranked Players constantly:

1) Created Ranked Guild.
2) Sold It!
3) After 1 or 2 days everyone Quit!
4) Recreate a New Guild.
5) Repeat…

I don't understand why people BUY an existing guild...
Like you can buy respect from it's existing members...

That won't happen, because people always buy guilds for less than the cost of setting one up.

I very much doubt that this would become a common technique to make coin. First off, new players (who would be the most prone to fall for this) just don't have the coin to make it a profitable venture. Secondly, their really aren't enough experienced players with lots of coin that would think that they could just buy an existing guild of high level members and get any benefit out of it.

BTW - Anyone that would be dumb enough to buy a guild to become the leader of members they don't know, deserves to get scammed - LOL.

Just the other day I saw someone shouting "WTS White Dye Formula for" I forget how much... but a couple of plat. Don't know if anyone bought it, but it's easy enough to find out how to do so by searching around here or with google.
