What's the best pet you could probably get Pre-Searing
Including Wolves, Bears, all that stuff?

And Post Searing?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Pre-Searing = Bear

Post-Searing = Bear or Dune Lizard ( but that's just my opinion... it really depends on how much u put into Beast Mastery that determines how "strong" ur pet is )

There really is no "best" pet, they all seem about the same to me. I was tempted to dump my level 20 Snow Wolf Chopper for one of those cool-looking Dune Lizards... but nahhh. Probably be about the same, I'd just have to grind to level him up.

You can get a bear in pre-searing? If so, how?

the black bears in pre-searing can be charmed. they are pretty cool too. personally, i like the moss spiders the best. in pvp, people always wonder what that little ball of fuzz is that is running towards them.

Warthogs.
Warthogs are the overall best pets. They are small yet pack quite a wallop. They are cute too .

I second that.

I always get comments on my "Playful Warthog".

By the way, is "playful" tagged onto their names after a certain level?

Ah, and in what area, if you recall did you get your Moss Spider to tame? Seems that there is a certain place only that they are tamable? Ones near B Estates couldn't be charmed by me today. (friendly/green)

Or if anyone knows, would appreciate it. (tips hat)

Me thanks.

When I play PvE in non-20 areas I tend to take pets. So far bears have made the most reliable tanks. They don't do a lot of damage compared to my old wolf (I never put more than six or so points into Beast Mastery), but their brutal mauling skill tends to be enough to get enemies to hate him instead of me, which is really what having a pet is all about in my situation.

It's also important for me to note that of all the pets I've tried, bears tend to stay alive the longest without needing to be tended. This is another important point for me...even when I'm helping people through back missions we can get into bad situations. If my pet dies I'm running that gamble with all my healing spells. He's worked out very well for me.

That said, the wolf did the most damage for my meager investment into beast mastery. He just seemed to have less armor than other pets.

Are Warthogs actually strong or are you just messing around?

Also, could someone tell me how to charm a bear (or the spider?)

Wolf seems to not do much dmg.

Warthogs ARE strong. At early levels he was attacked by 3 level 4 Graws (he was level 5-6) while I was killing their priest. Believe it or not, but the Warthog killed one Graw, almost killed another and was at more than 50% health.

By the way, I named my Warthog Oink in honour of the Oink of Gate of Kryta: when I played the WBE, I always wanted to charm Oink .

I believe "Playful" is a prefix given to your pet if you grant it a lot of attention (comfort animal and such).

I also love my warthog. I named it Tina after my 12lb chihuahua.

Thanks. Did you get your Warthog right outside of Ascalon on the hill? or is there another spot with a higher level one?

what? You can level your pets up? How? do they share experience with you as you kill monsters and they level up with you? I leveled 2.5 levels and my cat.. what's his name that you have to charm for that ranger quest to get more ranger spells... and he's still level 5...

seems playful and hearty have nothing to do with giving it attention; i heal my moa all the time but my boyfriend never even resses his stalker... but both turned 'playful' at level 11 and 'hearty' at level 15

There is one outside Ascalon, but it doesn't always appear. It should be near Althea's stage, towards the hill with the bandits on. Just re-enter the instance a few times til it appears

Thanks for clearing it up, Pevil .

Yes, the Warthog is a wildchild: he loves to wander ALL over Lakeside County.
If you are feeling lucky, you may adventure beyond the wall: there are many warthogs there (and twice as much Charrs).
I should note that Warthog's "Oink! Oink! Sniff-sniff" is much more agreeable than the wolf's howl.

Hi

I tried taming the Moss Spider and it said "this creature is not an animal", so how did you guys manage to do it?

Thanks
