playing Guild Wars through external HDD

eii, guys, i have a tricky question to ask..can i installed Guild Wars into an external hard disk drives (an external storage system) and then i play from it?? Can i download everything into the external hard disc drives then i plug the external HDD to the other computer to play Guild Wars and play it without needing to download everything from scratch again (the other computer does not have Guild Wars)??..thx for answering me..

I'm quite sure that works.

Could've swore someone on here a while ago was asking about it or something and someone said they find it handy as they have GW on a little external HDD and take it around with them.

Yes it is possible and works great. Very good for having GW on all your PC's. Just pick up your HDD and take it with you.

will it have any heat problem or slow transfer rate that lead to damage to my external HDD or lag in Guild Wars?

Heating is not normally a problem for external drives. Now if you leave it in your car in the summer and then run it hot all night there are possibilities of problems.

As for transfer rates, many times some people get a faster transfer rate to external drives than internal ones. But realistically the transfer speed might be affected but it shouldnt affect GW play at all. Your computer sees the external HD as just another drive.
