possible bug with ether lord?

I was just wondering if anyone noticed that with ether lord it said it gives a bonus to energy regen for the same amount of time that enemy 's energy is going down. so I used it , the regen only lasted for around 1.5 seconds but my spell was powered enough for 7 seconds, is this a bug or am I not reading the spell correctily?

Ether Lord is a hex. If it is removed from the target, the nyou loose the energy regen as well. This is most likely what happened in this case.

maybe, I was using it on a sand elemental, can they remove hexes?
