Search Disabled

FYI, searching has been disabled for a time. It's a resource hog and until we have the new server I'm sure it will be going up and down depending on the time. And yes yes... because I know someone will mention it. The mods know about this and will be lenient on posts "up to a point".

I've found out just now...
So is the search button the reason the site has been going crazy lately?
Everyone encourages it and tells everyone repeatedly to use this tool, yet it leads to the demise of the site itself...

days are over for now until we get a new server.

It's pretty hard to sift through all the stuff and find what you are looking for.

As for the new server coming in; I hope it works. I really hope that the site will be faster than ever before. It will truly be the 1337 site till then. I wish you luck with the server installation Inde. Make this work .

Spewing, makes it extremely difficult to find your own posts to bump them...unless you like to look through 10 pages of threads.

Awww... I refreshed the page... and it's like "You cannot access this page." And I was like WTF! Thanks for clearing that up.

this is really bad for me, as i always used that to track whatever auctions i was in, threads i wanted to keep up on, etc...

Actually, there is an easier way to keep track of your threads instead of searching for them .

At the top of every thread is the thread options button. Click it, then select subscribe thread.

You can check your subscribed threads in your control panel. It's very useful .

I'm guessing it will be down during this weekend to cope with the excessive load on the servers, but it should be back shortly.

search is now enabled up to a certain point, then when load is too high it gets turned off and you have to use Google

Quick as always, nice work.

Makes me wonder what kind of work is going to have to be done once that dedicated server gets going.

This is the perfect execuse for anyone lazy not to use the search function.

Please turn it off again. The forums, and especially the auction site, are virtually unusable. I can find something manually faster than with the search. At least waiting for it allows me to go make some lunch. But coming to the inevitable page timeout message is frustrating.

So when is this new server actually going online and when will we get our missing Avatars back. I asked about the Avatars in two threads here and haven't heard anything back yet. I am trying to be patient!
