A lot of people prefer +5AL over Fortitude, but it's personal preference really... I bet that thing was insanely expensive wasn't it 
Anyway your build will determine what you need obviously. Some times elemental damage is nice, some times lengthening conditions is nice, zealous/vampiric combined with Cyclone Axe can be awesome, etc. etc. etc.
For starters, where do you want to fight most of the time, what's your secondary, and what kind of skill/equipment are you using along with the axe?

for farming get a zealous mod, works well with cyclone axe
and 10/10 sundering is overated but if there was an axe that had armour penetration inbuilt like hornbows, ivory bow and shadow bows then i guess the "perfect" axe for farming purposes would be

10 strength only activates on skills though.
Altogether, sundering is decent for spiking, it equals about 1% armor penetration each hit. Zealous needs a build with it and can be annoying, I like Vamperic a LOT, but you need to know how to work with it.

For farming (and often for fighting in general) I prefer the 3:1 vampiric coupled with +5 armor. I really like this combination, and vastly prefer it to an axe with the fortitude mod (which is handy since armor is inexpensive).
I can definitely say that - for solo farrming - I am confident that this is the best combination. That's because it's easy to see the difference it makes when killing the same kind of monsters in the same place. Side-by-side comparisons are easy there.
I can't say the same for PvE ... there are too many variables ... different team members, different skill levels, etc. Same deal with PvP ... It's hard to know or even harder to prove what works best there.
Even so, I prefer the vampiric and armor mods there too but this is more opinion than fact. I think the farming preference is fact based.
I do carry a second axe with furious and armor ... it's mostly just there as a way to avoid the degen penalty when I'm not fighting with the vampiric.
I am not at all a fan of sundering.

Anyways, did some testing this morning and this Axe works wonderfull.Seems to cut farming time down a bit.Thinking the firey mod has alot to do with it.
This is a weapon crafter axe from the Forge,added fiery halft and +5 grip.
The 3/1 Vamp sounds like a great idea for farming mobs.Gonna have to make another axe now
