Is there a petition for 2 new slots instead of 1?

Just Noticed this again she keeps saying this for over a few months, coz i been asking that same quest everytime i meet her

Normally I don't go along with stupid online petitions, but in this case, I think one character slot simply isn't sufficient. It will probably be a full priced game, and whether or not it is linked to your chapter one account is beside the point. Players who create new accounts should, at the most, get 1 more slot, and that's only cause they'll need a PvP character. The minimum should be 2 or else the character you make for chapter 2 must be a As/Ri or a Ri/As for skill unlocks. That's boring.

i think having just 1 version of Chapter 2 release is a bad idea, i think, especially since people can purchase keys online and download everything (am i wrong about this) that there should be 2 options.

1. for players who don't have Chapter 1 at all, there should a download that includes chapter 2, and some essentials of chapter 1. it would come with 4 total slots. (or maybe also a bundle of chapter 1 and chapter 2 for like 70 bucks maybe)

2. for players with Chapter 1, there should be a Chapter 2 download with 2 or 3 new slots.

First four character slots: $15.00 each
Your fifth character slot: $60.00

If someone wants to experience the game fully, unlock all skills MUCH easier, or get a feel for how each class works in a team, they need to play as each primary profession. Lots of hardcore (and I use the term loosely, if that is possible) players have more than one account so they can do just that. I myself only have one because unlocking things multiple times would send me into raving, bloodthirsty rampages punctured by vicious, bitter tirades against the pain of it, but that's just me. The point of this being, two new classes, in my eyes, cannot be justified with one additional character. A/Ri just isn't that great a combination...

And for the people who do have mulitple accounts, they also get screwed with what amounts to a fifty-sixty dollar charge for adding ONE character slot. Their sets of four cost them a quarter of that. The way I see it, it's rediculous that accounts can't be merged in any sort of way. There is absolutely no reason why players should be penalized for having multiple accounts. These players surely represent a not insignificant fraction of Guild Wars buyers, as well... I've never had any sort of business education, but alienating the most profitable customers seems to me like a foolish decision.

It's been said and resaid so many times, that people would pay for additional character slots, I really don't need to repeat it. But I will anyways. If there was a way to pay $5 for another slot, even $10, (and hell, I'd probably pay $20) people would do it.

There are alot of things that I can agree with. But no matter what anet does not everyone will be happy with it (unless they gave everyone like 20 slots to do whatever they wanted with or something like that). Besides, out of all the games I have played anet is one of the few that really tries to listen to what the player base wants and make EVERYONE (or as many as possible) happy. They dont just cater to the PvP players or the PvE players (although some within the company itself might). I dont think they mind us as players letting them know what we would like to see, but I also know that us yelling and screaming at someone is no way to make them listen (at least from my experiences).

5 total accounts is too little
I have one mule that i stopped playing with. holds stuff for me
2 finished characters. Mo/w, w/mo. doing the titan quests
R/N11. at Kryta
so that leaves 1 open slot for me to make the new chars.

if i get 2 slots. i can delete my mule, make a PVP. and leave the other 2 for the new chars.


and honestly. if you are going to cry about it.
whip out 50 bucks. buy another GW CH1, use the key to upgrade your existing account. 4 extra slots at 12 dollars each

I think most people would be more than happy to pay 50 bucks for 4 extra slots...but Anet doesn't allow us UPGRADE and merge accounts!!

Also, I highly doubt Anet will release CH.2 as a stand alone game at $50 and penalize their loyal fan base (those who already own Ch.1) by allowing them to only have 1 extra slot. My guess is 8 total slots for Ch.1 & 2 owners and 4 for those who only have one of the chapters.

Poised, if you really don't want to delete any characters before this weekend, you can use the key ANet provided to play. You won't miss a thing, the only problem is that you will lose any skills/faction you earn during the event, which is nothing you cant unlock again the first couple of days you have factions.

Going back to the whole 2 slots issue, I will repeat what I posted earlier but nobody commented on it. How would people feel about getting 1 slot to start with, but having to complete the game with an old character to unlock the second one? that way we don't miss out on the new classes, but we still have a nice flow of old characters to keep the profession mix even...

Not really, their whining is just annoying...I'm sure they'd like to have their account come with a free crystaline while they are at it...if they are gonna leave just leave and save us all some bandwidth

I play PvE only so far, but am trying to finish the game with all 6 primary professions, accross 2 accounts.

L20 R/Ele - Finished all quests except final assault
L20 W/Mo - At abbadon's mouth
L20 Ele/Nec - At Ring of Fire
L5 Mo/Mes - At Sardelac - mainly a storage character

L15 Mes/R - Up to D'alessio seaboard
L7 Nec/Mo - Finished Presearing

I enjoy playing pve helping guildmates through the missions, FOW, SF etc.

I am not going to buy 2 copies of chapter 2, but hope to get at least 2 extra slots on my main account to add primary Ritualist and Assassin characters.

Deleting a L20 character is just not an option, I enjoy playing all the different classes and have spent 100's of hours getting them to L20, to delete them and then have to start from scratch if I wanted to play that class again is just madness.

4+4=8
Ideal scenario - I am buying a game with 4 slots to add to game with 4 slots, anything less and I feel they are ripping us off. This would let me add primary Ritualist and Assassin characters, also a replacement storage character and play my monk properly. Leaving 1 slot for pvp if I ever wanted to try that.

4+4=6
Gives me the 2 extra slots on my main account I need to add primary Ritualist and Assassin characters.
This would allow my to keep the monk which I hope to be able to play properly with if they expand storage.

4+4=5
I'd have to delete the monk and make a storage character on my second account - harder to access but would be able to try Rit and Ass primaries, but more importantly I'd have to make a primary monk on the Ch1 only second account - not a good situation really.

The alternative would be 4+4= (4) + (4) ie keeping the accounts separate to get all the available slots, but then I would not get to play the new areas with my favourite characters.

You're whining about whining, which I guess is a much better use of bandwidth.

the debate is between one ADDITIONAL slot or two ADDITIONAL slots for add on acconts.

you will not be getting a slot more than the total of two new professions (if that).

so a total of 7/8 is out.

AS FOR the standalone chapter getting 4 slots that is because they are getting the core 6 professions plus the 2 new professions for 8 professions.

if generous Anet will also give a pvp slot for 5 slots.

Agreed 100%, to think this guy actually thinks what he thinks is the way others should think and no one else has a right to say their opinions about why they are not going to buy the expanion. LOL If the company doesn't offer what people want they aren't going to buy it period. Plain and simple no if's and's or but's and they have every right (as they are told to do whe you email them) to come to an official forum and tell them why they are not going to buy it. But, I'm not buying it because I just find the PVE game boring, not because of lack of slots or lack of vault space, because it's just plain and simply boring to have to remain level 20 and the weapons aren't getting any increase in stats and the armor isn't getting any increase in stats. Sorry, but, to me that's just pitifully boring to keep playing a character like that just to see some new SKINS and 100 different graphical NPC's?? lol NOT!

1 PvP char.
2 PvE from C1.
That leaves 2 slots for C2 PvE. Great. 8 Professions to try it with, and 2 slots.
And if I ever want to try another C1 run through, I'd need to delete someone.

(Will want to play C2 from lvl1, not walk around with lvl20s from C1)

(Also, I know it's too far off to matter, but if every chapter only has 1 extra slot then.../shudder/ )

I think the ideal amount of char slots is 1 per primary, and one for a pvp-only.

I'd like to be able to play the game with one of every char tyvm. My only way of doing that currently is to DELETE a char, or buy another copy of the game. Oh, but if I buy another copy, I can't easily transfer items, and I'd have to unlock everything again (Or delete a char on my first account, but thats what we're trying to avoid, right?) Then, when C2 comes out, I'd have to buy two copies of it.

So no, buying another copy is not a good option.

From a PvP pov, in C1, 4 char slots was fine. In C2, from that same pov, 5 will be fine.

The problem is, We don't all play PvP. Sure, all you need is 3 char slots to cover every class for the purpose of unlocks via quests. The PvE-heavy people, many of them like playing differnt chars. I'd like to see someone try and argue that a W/Mo plays exactly like a Mo/W. That would be nonsense. From a PvE pov, the ideal number of slots is at least one per primary. With the exelent ability to change secondarys, only one of each primary is really needed for a PvE player.

Since the PvE player would like more slots than the average PvP player, it is logical to side with the PvE player.

What if there were a dedicated PvP only slot? I think this would bother many PvE players, unless they already had as many slots as they wanted.

So, imho, the minimmum number of slots equals the number of primarys, while the ideal number if slots is the number of primarys plus one. Wether or not that one extra slot is a PvP-only slot makes little difference to me. After all, I could always use it as a mule if I want.

6 Slots would still not be enough, and 5 would certainly be far too little. I would like to play every primary to lvl 20 without deleting, and without having all the problems of buying two copies.

Well said. I get really tired of reading posts from people standing on the soap box of superiority. Your post summed up my feelings pretty accurately.

As for the topic: I'm sure I've voted in one of the other threads of this type but I too would like a couple more slots. Like Katari (and some others) have said I too would like 1 slot per primary character type and 1 for pvp only. I know this isn't necessarily a realistic request so I say I would be happy with 2 or 3 more slots.

The main reason I think this is a good idea is that it would give people an opportunity to learn how each primary works. It would give them a much better understanding of the game and make us a community of better players (overall).

If it ends up being true that there will be only one more slot if you buy chapter 2 and add it to a chapter 1 account, then I'm not likely to buy chapter 2. I love this game but there are other interesting games to play for that matter. It all depends on what suits your needs for enjoyment and how much you value what you're being sold. While we aren't paying a monthly fee , ANet is definitely making money on it's economic model. As patrons of that model I do believe we have a certain priveledge of communicating our desires from the product.
