Anyone else just got a perma ban?
22 pages • Page 17
Going a week now for me on 2 acc's no ban as of yet. If I do get banned it'll be my last attempt as that will tell me they just don't care anymore about the game.

It appears that many bans resulted from a MAC or IP address that was shared with someone who exhibited botting or syncing behavior. So, if anyone else used your computer or someone else in your household did anything bad, you could be banned for it. Yes, it is very sad.

Yet, I have accounts that I played on the same computer that are not banned--so its not ip/mac that they are using. My husband lives at the same ip as I--he is not banned. No idea what their criteria is, but we do know they are being very slow at responding to tickets (if they will respond at all to gw tickets).

To the matter of fact, the country I live in, Singapore. Do not allow use fixed IP address. The IP here is dynamically changed by the network provider. That is why I am very frustrated to play guild wars 2 where I have to approve IP address every time I log in to Gw2. Sometime gw2 did not send authentication email and I have to fail and retry like hell.

As IP is dynamically change If your next IP is then banned IP. This explain the banned doom.

Hi everyone, at least two (or three, I don't remember any character name there) of my four accounts have been banned as well.
Still, the thing is that I really wonder how they have come to the decision to ban me: I have obviously never synced because I have never played GvG and HA (the only "syncing" I did was entering the RA at the same time, but even that we sometimes played against each other and each one tried his best to win). My gladiator rank is maybe 3 or 4 - I lost quite often and even failed to interrupt signets of ressurection quite often, so that surely is no sign of botting.
I not only haven't botted, I haven't even extensively farmed. The only spot I farmed somehow often was spectral vaettirs, but there I failed quite often due to not re-applying enchantments at the right time - something a bot surely would not miss.
The only third-party program I ever used was TexMod on one of my accounts - for ten seconds. I did not use it more often because I didn't yet want to get the cartographer title. (I don't count Guild Wars Visions and Libre/OpenOffice Calc as third-party programs, since they don't interact with guild wars in any way even though I used them for guild wars).
I own less than 20 ectos (maybe even less than 10), haven't got any special armor and a total of 7 HoM points on my best character (5 on the other).
So - has anyone got an idea what I could do to at least get information about the exact ban cause in order to explain why the thing wasn't due to botting or something else?
PS: Something I really wonder is: Why in hell do some player who were banned innocently want to buy another guild wars copy? Do you really want to support such practices of a) banning legit players and b) not giving them any possibility show that they are legit players? I will surely not buy the Guild Wars 2 expansion now, and if there will be a lawsuit with a high chance of winning I am willing to invest the 25-45€ for the expansion in this lawsuit just to hurt them for not carefully checking their bans.

What do you do on guild wars? Kinda serious question lol. 4 Accounts, and less than 20ecto net worth and less than 10 HOM points? What do you do lol.

2 accounts were actively played, one was a storage acc (this one was not banned btw).
I wanted to have all professions, thus I needed a second account or additional char slots. Since I thought I could gain some efficiency by playing two accounts at the same time in low difficulty PvE (one account: mouse or wasd/1234, second account: numpad with "follow" command, "select target" and abilities), I bought a second account.
Unfortunately I forgot email-address and character name of my storage account since I didn't use it for several months. Since I thought I would not be able to remember it, I bought another storage account. Still, after some days I in fact remembered a character name and thus I had four accounts.
In the accounts, my primary focus was getting zaishen coins to buy the 20 slot bag, thus the thing I did mostly was zaishen missions. Also, I wanted that every character on every non-storage account should be level 20 and have all area accessible, i.e. all missions completed which took some time - especially since I often "semi-played" by letting character attack a group, then switch to another window, read a bit of a newspaper article, when completed, go to another group etc.

I haven't told many that I was banned in the first few ban waves in jan. Almost 10 years with this game and they decide to ban me for using a bot/third-party program. One thing is for sure, I never touched a bot or any third-party program, no texmod or even multi-launch since I played GW on 2 computers. Sent ticket on jan 19 and still no reply...
Really sucks to see everything I worked hard for including my entire OS shield collection just gone, and for something I didn't even do... I see that I'm not alone in this but this is definately not the way I wanted to go out.
Funny thing is I told Max and the other guildies in PhD that if I'm banned A-net surely messed up, next day all my 5 accounts were permabanned lol. I wish all of you who were unfairly banned the best but there is just no excuse for A-net banning so many people for something they didn't do. I support banning botters as much as the next guy but they should have left this game alone for the short time it has left when they obviously have no clue about what they are doing or care for that matter.

You wouldn't get banned for using texmod a lot of players use /ed it for getting the cartographer title and it is the only way.It is use at your own risk.
