Well, obviously, I see nobody playing, after recently returning =P And, especially nobody on my long friend list.

Any of you wanna be PVE buddies :P? Decided to go through prophecies from the beginning, and run through the campaigns...And PvP as well. Definitely going to make a pit-stop in NF, as having heroes is much more interesting, before returning to wreck Prophecies =)

I see nobody in classic - and would like to have teamwork, instead of AI - cast a ward, and whole party leaves warded area...bah.
Recently made it to Borlis Pass;
Just add me in game -

You could make a similar thread for Guild Wars 2. Just modify the title a bit...

That's what happens when a game doesn't live up to it's hype

Anet didn't just spend the last year revamping their event systems for automation just so they could pull the plug in the next couple of years. The sky is not falling any time soon. You will probably drop GW1 before Anet does.

It's a damn shame. If they hadn't released GW2, GW1 would probably still have an active community. Instead, GW1 is dead and GW2 is dying. Even if one wanted to overlook GW2's many flaws and poor design choices and stick with it just to be with the community, it wouldn't matter - that community is swiftly vanishing.

What we have left is basically the end of Guild Wars as a franchise, barring GW3 - if it ever happens - going back to good GW1 game design*. A sad thing to happen after seven good years.

Funnily enough, the only winners are Pre-Searing Ascalon players - while it certainly has far, far less players than it used to, it seems to be the most populated part of the game apart from Kamadan & GToB.

*ArenaNet's best bet is probably to start developing GW3 immediately, if they haven't already, and keep GW2 on life support as best they can in the meantime. There's no going back to GW1, but GW3 could potentially be GW1 in all but name.

are we there yet?

gw3 ftw!
yeah, if they keep what they ditched for gw2 from gw1 then it would be a pretty nice game. If it was the engine that was a problem, just change that--no need to change every profession, every map, every npc, every armor, etc....yes, there will be lots of changes (skills etc), but the original game was unique for what it offers, keep that unique-ness and just update the engine and it would be ...a REAL sequel!

We should get many fans together that are all fans of GW and remake the game under a new name. Problem solved.

The mechanics in GW1 were rock solid. All they really needed to do for a sequel was give us new stories, campaigns, etc, new graphics... but leave the gameplay mechanics untouched.

I played GW1 since Factions was released
GW2 I only played about a month, then back to GW1.

Now if they make a GW3 much closer to original GW1 then I would definitely buy it

NOT everybody's gone....yet. I seen quite an uptick in activity lately so I know things are starting to look better for us as a community. Whether or not all these doomsayers saying that GW is dying or dead needs to pull their heads out of their arse and take another look.

I have yet as anybody else knows that the health of the game is better than being on life support, fact is I think it's getting better over time. I wish that some people would just stop, take another look at what we have and enjoy what we do have, even without new content or updates of whatever.

As far as GW2 is concerned I had enuff of the whining and crying from those who try like hell to draw comparisons of peaches and apples. A HUGE difference if you ask me!!
