So are the HOM rewards worth it?

Well, aside from the fun of filling out your HOM, do the reward items in GW2 feel like they are worthy of the effort? I know the gear can't be too good since that would create internal balance problems for the game, but just how good or bad are they in comparison to the loot you pick up? How long did you use your reward gear before replacing it?

HoM rewards are skins you put in the equipment of your choice. If you get a better piece of equipment, you can just re-skin it to the applicable HoM skin of your choice again.

Oh, I guess that's pretty interesting. So it's a cosmetic reward... perhaps I should have figured that out. Thanks!

I like how the HoM is a ruin in GW 2. Because i somehow expected the building to be indestructible.

You can claim them at the very start, just click the purple "globe" item in your inventory (forgot the name).

You get the portal stone at the start, but it won't work until you leave the tutorial area. I tried.

I personally love the skins, and it makes getting the stats you want easy without sacrificing style. Some armors are just fugly and dye differently.

If the Hall of Monuments Portal Stone fails to appear in your inventory, you can just go to Hooligan's Route in Lion's Arch (via an Asuran gate in any of the capitals) and get one (for free) from a Charr Karma vendor there named Scornheart (next to the Undermarket Point of Interest marker).

If you like the heritage skins, it's definitely worth it. Soon we might have a thorough gallery of them.

They are in infinite supply; which is great as it saves you the cost for transmutation stones. I plan to use them till max level.

That's what I love most. When I first started playing, that's what I was expecting them to do. Other game producers would have gladly shafted users by making them buy the trans stones to continue using them after a certain point.

I think the stuff is fantastic. I am rolling a ranger first and the pets from there are great. The Jellyfish is a fricking brick house when it comes to survivability.

Some of the skins are definitely great. My warrior has been enjoying having Stygian reavers strapped to his belt and the Heritage armor is definitely nicer than most of the early game equipment. The titles, on the other hand, I would have to say a re largely not worth it. The GW2 title display is less less pronounced than it was in GW1, so half the time no one even sees your titles. The minis are fun too, if you care at all about such things.

As this question is in relation to GW2, and this is a forum for GW1...
