Mysterious Runes/Stones??

while doing the new Wayfarer quests I found these weird runestones in Reed Bog, can anyone shed any light on them?

Have they always been there? I haven't been out to that part until now =|

They've been there since the start of the game and can be found in numerous locations. Some discussion here: http://www.guildwiki.org/Talk:The_Wi...ssion%29#Runes.

Nothing's known on them, though they are seen near centaurs in The Wilds, as well as being near Druid ruins iirc.

I think they are unfinished and most likely abandoned content/lore such as Admiral Saidon the Eternal in FoW who never got any quests.

Sometimes NPCs can exist, even within elite areas, without having quests. Nothing says he was intended to have quest.

But these runes are a lot like 70% of Tyrian lore - never explained, just present.
