Please help! Stuck @ Scavenger Hunt

I have used the search engine and wiki'd the info, however, neither gave a conclusive answer.

I know I am QUITE late on this subject since GW2 is about to come out, however, I need some help.

My brother needs max Vanguard to finish out HoM and while we were at it, I figured he/I might as well do the WiK quest chain. Specifically, the mission "Rise" for reputation and since he hasnt done the quests yet, I thought we'd do them and and grab a few Oppressor weapons.

My brothers and I are doing the quests together. however, we hit a snag.

My brother is STUCK at Thackeray's Scavenger Hunt. He gave him all of the items but it wont advance.

Wiki says, "This quest can get bugged for certain characters, and even after turning in all suitable items, Thackeray's dialogue may never advance. It is currently unknown how to fix this problem. "

However, there is GOT to be a way to fix this. The main reason for using this character, is because it is his main character. I'd rather not have to get Max Vanguard on another character. Does anyone know how to fix it? It would probably fix if the quest was able to be Abandoned but, to my knowledge, this quest is the ONLY quest that is unable to be Abandoned.

After your brother gave Thackeray all the items and got the response that all Thackeray needs for his picnic is the girl, did your brother return to the hall of monuments to see Gwen cancel the picnic date? You have to watch that dialogue to advance. Also, I think your brother has to be sure he is in his HoM rather than yours to trigger that dialogue so he will want to enter without you along.

If you are sure the quest bugged out, the only thing you can really do is abandon the quest and try again. That, or submit a support ticket, but they'll most likely tell you to just abandon it and try again anyway... so you might as well just do it.

I don't believe this is an abandonable quest.

I have done everything "by the book." I made sure that for that part he did it himself. Actually, I did that part for him b/c I've done it a "bazillion" times with my characters. I have each step burned into my head; and to make sure, I've wiki'd it and read everything until my eyes bled. (Ok not really, but you get the idea)

The next part should be that when he talks to Thackeray 1 more time, it pops up *What else could you possibly need* or something to that effect. Thackeray replies "The hardest part, the girl." However, this is where he is stuck at. In fact, I gave him 3 of each of the 4 items just to be sure I didnt miss anything.

-And like I said before, this quest can not be abandoned.

Thackeray's next dialog bubble is not popping up. "Now to get the girl." Since this wont pop up (at all) the next Gwen and Thackeray's scene will not show.

Since your goal is to enter the WiK chain have you tried the other way to do it?

You should not need the scavenger hunt for that path

OK guys, I think I figured it out. For future reference, you MUST repeat MUST give him Drake Kabob in order to proceed. You can NOT give "ok" items. You MUST give him the "perfect" items. This seems to fix the glitch.
